Too many of these questions have awful grammar and spelling! Sometimes they don't even make sense!! Doesn't anyone have pride in themselves enough to double-check their questions before submitting them?

There is even a SPELL CHECK feature on here!!

Oh, "they" teach it -- the other "they" just don't bother to learn it. Or "they" are too busy "texting" their questions and responses to try to do it grammatically or with correct spelling. So, how may "R's" in ARRRRRRGH!!? Or is the proper response, in today's language, la-la-la-la-la-la?!! (LOL!!)

They are engaging in what is called "Code Switching". It's like how when you talk to your mother, you have code words and shortened phrases other people might not understand or appreciate, yet you've spoken the same language in the same culture for so long that you both understand. It's like that in here. The Internet has an informal code -- spelling and grammar don't matter -- so people for whom those are not ingrained don't need to worry.

The Check Spelling feature is new so some people may not even realize it.

Actually, they don't teach spelling and grammar the way I was taught. It was hammered into our heads and for what purpose. Now, I am bombarded with misspellings on billboards, signs in store windows and even in the directions for household products. We were driving in a tourist area and watching for how many different spellings we could see for the word souvenir. It was amazing how many we counted.

They do teach grammar and spelling in school. It's up to the students to retain that information.

I've noticed that myself. Of course, those from other countries may not be able to spell English too well...

Well, I didn't learn any grammar in school after I finished up fifth grade.
