SY550 Security & Monitoring sytem operational temperatures state between 41-104 degrees. If the system is left out all winter in temperatures below 41 degrees, will this cause the units damage? If so, is there another system that would be better for inclimate weather?

Is this the Sylvania SY550, and if so, is the monitor actually outside, or just the cameras? Picture tubes in monitors are sensitive to low temperatures and can crack. If just the cameras are outside, there are many environmental housings available which have heater/blower units in them. If you need the whole thing outside, you probably should consider a digital recorder with a LCD monitor. This web site has alot of very cheap equipment; http://www.supercircuits.com/

Also, if you upgrade the cameras &/or recorder, make sure what you have now uses RG59 coaxial cable, if not, you may need to replace the cable or use UTP adapters
