I used to run a mile in 7 min. 30 sec., so take that times 3 and you get 22.5 min. But it's not reasonable to think that one could keep up that pace for 3 miles straight, so tack on another few minutes and 28 min. is good!

I would say this is a very bad time. I can walk at 7 miles and hour. You are only moving at a little less than 1 1/2 miles an hour.

It certanly is. To keep running for half and hour and to keep running for three miles are also impressive achievements! :) In my mind, it's a lot easier to do 1 mile in 6 or7 minutes than 3 in 28.

Good time. It shows that you are fit. I bet most people in this country can't even run under 10 minutes a mile.

I'm training for a marathon this year and so I'm growing accustomed to the speeds of the runners around me. A large chunk of the people along with me are running at about a 10ish minute mile. So, your time is middle of the road. There are people much, much faster and there are people much, much slower.

an olympic runner averages 1 mile in 5-7 minutes. so, 28 divided by 3 is 9.3 repeated. so u ran in just about 2 times the time it takes an olympic athlete. not good, but not bad my friend...
