She is taking advantage of a store's liberal return policy. I believe this is the same as stealing.

IF people did this all the time, I would think that there'd be people buying onsies that are labled say 6 months & then they open it & find 3months sizes. ( Not to mention faded-even if she is pristine about washing 2months worth of it WILL fade & yes whites fade). So those people would become pretty darn upset & obviously go return them, but wait- the store won't let them because the STORE didn't sell her size 3months that appear used-they sold her NEW 6 months Onsies. Hey wait-This WILL probably happen to the person that buys the pack your friend returned. Opps sorry 'bout that mom right? Anyways, I'm positive your friend is no where near the 1st person to this, and won't be the last, but is is FAR (very far) from the norm. Of course she knows it is dishonest & "wrong" but can easily justify it by saying people do it all the time. A more ethical justification (though still morally questionable & dishonest) would be that she is poor & "had to do it" to buy diapers or formula with the $10. Oh wait if THAt was the reason she couldv'e returned the correct SIZE for the $10, but hey whatever justification makes her feel it acceptable works. It really isn't one of the WORST things a mother (or any person really) could do but she ought to think of the mom that may be worse off financially & better off morally (on this issue only I mean) that will be stuck with some used-@ss-2-small-2-fit Onsies for HER daughter not to mention out the $10 she paid for them!!!! Okay tell her about the "poor other mom" & make her feel guilty, then go to the mall with her & buy a REALLY cool outfit, wear it & return it. Hey @ least it'll be the SAME SIZE right? Okay sorry I rambled a bit & I am not judging your friend or saying that she is a bad person because she probably isn't overall I'm sure or you wou;dn't be friends with her would you? Okay yeah I'm (finally) done. Now go play with her cute little baby girl & smile a little.

some stores have different policies, but as far as i can see that is misdemeanor, theft, fraud, and if they know she is a repeater they could probably get her for more than one offense, and just nasty. the next time you see her ask her if she wants to go garage saling then take her to the store where she did that. if she asks why you took her there? then tell her you heard you can buy others people's used crap at top dollar. thought it was the deal of the day. by the way if you are with her when she does this you are accessory to her crime doesn't even matter whether you knew in advance or not of what she was doing. great friend.

I feel sorry for the people who buy the onesies and receive a smaller size than what they wanted. When the honest people return them, it could cause problems for them. Have her take the onesies to a second hand store like Once Upon a Child. They buy used baby items. She might not get back ten dollars, but at least it is not stealing!

Believe it or not, people actually do these kind of things. Whatever they can do to "beat the system", they will do. What your friend is doing is wrong and is stealing. Whether she gets back 50 cents or 50 dollars, it is wrong. I would sit her down and discuss this with her. A friend wouldn't look the other way. A friend would politely confront her. Just think about what to say before you confront her.

Um no-your friend is a crook!! How would you feel if you went and bought that item after it was returned. You should tell her that is the same as shoplifting and if they find out she's doing it she will get arrested, charged and fined and possibly face jail time. Oh and if you are with her you are considerd an accesory and will be charged to. Your friend needs to grow up.

I hope not! I buy my onsies from there and I hope that some other kid has been wearing my daughters clothes. If her kid is as messy as mine they probably should be able to tell that they have been worn

That is stealing and I would never do that. I dont understand how people can live with themselves after cheating the someone. Also that is part of the reason merchandise cost so much because of people like her!!!

No, people do not do this all the time. This IS STEALING. The clerk at the return desk must be absent minded, he/she can't tell the package is opened & used?
