offer them a mint. If the person has good etiquette, they should know you never refuse a mint.
This goes for everyone. The most polite thing to do on your part is to accept the mint. You don't want to offend anyone else. Some people aren't as nice about bad breath.

I would constantly chew gum when you are with him. Politely offer him a piece each time you are chewing. Maybe he will get the hint. As time goes on, and you get more comfortable with him, you may casually mention it to him, maybe in a joking manner, like "whoa, that garlic pasta we ate gave you some breath!" There's really not a polite way to say that someone has bad breath, other than to just outright say it or make a joke about it.

If you offer him some mints or gum, he may take the hint, but he also may just think it is a temporary problem...not an ongoing issue...I'd just be upfront abou tit, but as nice as you can be...more than likely, he will be offended, but just tell him, you are really interested in him, and that you are dying to kiss him (I don't know if you are or not though) but, his breath is an issue. bIt may be a medical problem or due to some sort of medication he is on....ask him if anyone has ever confronted him on this.

I feel most people are too sensitive for some hygiene issues, but if you simply discuss it with him and if he is secure with himself, then he shouldn't have a problem with you telling him. Tell him you really aren't trying to be insensitive with this issue and don't intentionally mean to hurt any feelings. If he is a smart man he will accept your advice and also if he cares for you, he won't mind doing something about it. It's hard to believe some people can't tell they have bad breath, but some don't realize. It can be a big turn off tho!

Carry mints & gum with you at all times. Whenever he comes near you, offer him some, but don't use any or offer it to anyone else around him. Eventually he will get the hint. If he's really dense, give him a tongue scraper, toothbrush, and toothpaste in a gift box.

Keep asking him all the time if he wants gum or a mint. You can check to see if he's smart too with this based on whether or not he gets the hint.

Wow that's a tough one. Kudos for you for wanting to pursue, a lot of people would just move on. A line a friend of mine always used was "you got any gum?", the person would say "yes", then he'd say "your breathe stinks, you'd better chew it"!!!
Good luck.

" I like you but you have bad breath"
and have some gum or mints etc.
If he gets upset you don't want him.
PS: you really can not hurt someone's feelings
they allow a hurt feeling.
