Interesting. As far as it's origins - with the fact of the statues origins being on the web site and Christians are smart enough to use the internet, the idea that 'they don't know what it's origins are' is not applicable.
Whether or not it becomes a place of worship is not the point either or if whether or not anyone worships that god hasn't anything to do with it.
It is a work of art (and looks beautifully done) and It is a statue of a god.
The point is that no Christian is complaining.......

There is alot of Roman influence in America. I am afraid that we are remergence of the Roman empire. How did this happen? Well I know after we became a superpower the U.S. joined the CFR [ Council on Foriegn Relations ] after WW II and we aquried the atomic bomb. The CFR was founded in Rome in like 1919 or somewhere along there. Ever since then we have been trying to force other countries to worship our image and become a democracy. The statue on top of the White House is the Roman goddess of the underworld named Persephone. It was originally suppose to have been the statue of the Virgin Mary. Now we have a bunch of Satanic cult members in some sort of power of our government. And yes that includes the members of Skull and Bones including Bush. All I can say is welcome to Babylon the great. Oh and check out this site. And tell me our country is not evil.

Of course, no one worships Vulcan anymore, so it's considered abstract and symbolic. Liberty in New York harbor and statues of Justice in many courthouses also represent abstractions and not goddesses. No non-Christian groups have complained about these statues either, as far as I know. Should we applaud them, too, for their tolerance?

Christians don't generally complain about art unless it is offensive. (nudity, obscene, etc.,.) There's no reason to complain about a statue unless it becomes an object of worship.

NO, people say they're tolerant but they have no idea the real meaning of it!
don't defend yourself whatever happens, or whatever people say about you, comprehend everyone else, don't complain of anything including when one of your beloved ones die, and much more of it........don't complain about the weather, if you have money, if you loose a job, if you get sick, if ............
So it'll help others if you are more explicit with your questions....
I know you don't even whats the meaning of TOLERANT do you????

I'm a Christian and I took a look at this statue. I'm not amazed that it stands and I'm surprised no one has complained.
Here if you need me to help you.><>

I don't see what anyone could find offensive about the statue. There's nothing that anyone wouldn't tolerate. I must have missed something.

Vulcan has been the symbol of the steelworking industry for a long time, and it is in this context that the statue was erected.
Nobody's stopped to worship it, have they?

Christians are silent about a statue, probaby because most are ignorant as to its origins, and that suddenly erases 2,000 years of insane dogma, bigotry and slaughter? Yeah, sure.
