You may think I'm crazy but I sing to my cat who is my probably my most captive audience ever. She starts purring really loud, rolling around on the ground, and she opens and closes her eyes really slowly staring at me like she's is in love with me.

You lucky lucky girl!

When i sing my cat jumps on me and looks at me as if im torturing him and sometimes he smacks my mouth with his paw!
I think maybe he wants me to shut up!

Its nice if your cat does this its a sign that they are comfortable with you and it soothes them like it does a baby!
They just want to show you love back!

My guess is she's in agony and the loud purring is actually crying, the rolling around is a sign of mild cardiac pain and when she's opening and closing her eyes slowly, she's begging you to stop.

I'm not trying to sound like a smart@ss,but with all due respect, did it occur to you that cats not only have excellent sight at night but also excellent hearing. It could be a reaction to the pitch in your voice?

Oh that is soooo sweet, it seems like she likes the sound of your voice and she probably knows that you sing TO her and that all those nice notes are for her. Oh God Bless you for loving your cat like that!

ill second the voice pitch cause.

they have very sensitive ears,,,, its hard for humans to imagine how well these animals can hear certain tones.

odds are that your voice at higher levels (singing) hurts the cats ears,,,,,(seriously)..... and is being effectionate in an attempt to stop you from screaming and the pain you are causing.

The high notes are probably driving her crazy. They have very sensitive ears.

Maybe she wants to sing with you, or she's trying to hum along with her purring.

And I don't think you're crazy. I think that's cool!
