i have felt unsafe only once in my life and i choose never to be again...the best is to make your body a weapon, karate and the like and train yourself to not hesitate when confronted....hesitation can mean death or injury. if someone is willing to hurt you then be more than willing to hurt them back...the old saying 'its either us or them' is true...as for men being stronger and more aggressive, some of that is true but you can use that against them and truly they are weaker than women are...useful but weaker

I never got the impression the world was such a dangerous place... Maybe I'm just too trusting, and not a girl, but the chances of you getting into such a bad situation as long as you avoid the rougher parts of town are really small...
But I'll never forget the response of a girl who was getting polled about what she does to stay safe. Most responses were pepper spray, don't go out alone at night, stay far from the curb, make sure someone knows where you are going at all times, that sort of thing. But her answer was, "I just carry a knife in my purse." The way she said it, the pollster, took a step back and her eyes dropped to the girls purse. So ya, whatever floats your boat. You do it to feel safe. It's quesionable how much protection anything you do will really provide if the horrible moment ever comes.

It's sick how women can't feel safe no matter where they are.Pepper spray is good, but always remember your cell phone and have 911 on speed dial. You may want to try carrying a heavy duty flashlight that can double as a weapon.Try and walk with a buddy if you can.
I recently went camping with my family.I had to go to the bathroom but it was dark.I started walking to the restrooms and turned back because I got spooked.I don't normally get scared of animals or anything like that.I just started thinking that the campsite held 755 sites.multiply that by at least 2 people per site and that's too many people to trust not to be physchos.

Hhhmmm....I have some suggestions...
Start training your Dogs on how to attack intruders and robbers...
the pepper spray is a good idea...you should never forget your cellphone...put 911 on speed dial for easy access to the police...put a close friend or family member or neighbor on speed dial as well, for back-up if the police are late...
I protect myself in a very public place by making a tight FIST ready to punch a criminal...make an angry face if there's someone staring or feeling like doing a crime...A woman can always be tough....
dont wear things too revealing too often...lessen your mini skirts and tube tops if you're gonna go somewhere at night...

Always check your surroundings after you have left your house. Never walk in an wooded area, stay out in the opened as you walk where there is people around, if you have a partner have them to walk with you if not always carry pepper spray with you cause there are predators out there. Don't walk to far away where noone sees you but the predator. Just be careful everytime you walk your animal. Your not the only person that feels that way. Try not to walk him in lighted area at all times.

Take a self defense class. Get to know ur neighbors. Always tell someone where u r. Keep in touch with ur family. Knowledge is power so get some self help books. Its ok to feel this way, I have a man and a dog and sometimes I feel scared too.

Just be a little bit more social and walk with a friend try not to walk on lonely roads and buy a small pocket gun for your house, how ever the the defense is to be aware of spots and people they look normal.

I wonder the same thing! I see women walking dogs alone every night and I always say I would never do that. I don't own any dogs for one thing, but even inside my house I am nervous - my husband works nights so he doesn't get home until after midnight or 1.
PRAY!

lol, haha what neighbor you live in??? Make alot of guys friends so they can protect you. or taking some classes to protect yourself. I dont think its legal to have a tazer gun. Sometimes you got to be street smart, always check your surroundings, see if you notice anything strange, and when your going home late at night, like from work or a party take a cab home and make sure they wait till you get in your house safe. Or be accompanied by someone. Or make sure people in your neighborhood know you know people and even though you live by yourself, at least they know you have family and friends by your side

just appear strong and confident. these two are the best ways to eliminate those bad guys. second to appearance are your self-defense skills which you can take up.
When walking dogs, you are definitely safe because people would hate to be bitten by them. When at home, just lock all your doors. check first before opening your door. Befriend your neighbors so they can watch over your place while you're not home and even help you when you're in trouble.

I am eighteen and my dad lets me live in the house by myself (but he pays for it) and it can be pretty scary. I got locks put on the windows and when I go out with my boyfriend, when we get back alot of times i have him search the house, no lie. i always lock both locks on the door and when i leave house if i know i'll be back late i make sure porch light is on.
I also am very careful about who i give my phone number or secrets out to. i have a stalker whos 27 and he calls me all the time and i think he watches me..we're getting the house number changed and possibly getting a restraining order on him.
I say:
lock your doors and windows.
get a gun if you can shoot one (LOL)
dont give your number out to just anyone
have someone check the house if youre scared
also when i leave the house or go to sleep, i leave the radio on the in the living room and i leave the lights in the living room on so it looks like someone is home.
