you're right about the hypothyroidism (which is common in patients with fibromyalgia). i am being treated for this and am retested frequently to check the levels.
thanks!

Check out The Miracle of Magnesium by Dr Carolyn Dean. It has a very good chapter on FM and discusses natural ways to overcome it.

Hello

The best pain relief I have found is a combination for Heat therapy and opiate pain relievers. The heat therapy is a machine called a T pump with pad. Its a small machine about the size of a car battery. I heats sterile water and pumps it into a large pad that looks like a heating pad. Instead though the heated water is pumped through the pad. It provided moist heat that penetrates the muscle and joints it really helps releive the pain. The machine and pad can be purchased online for about 400.00. Type in medical supply T pump. you'll need to check the different companies to get the best price. Some pumps come with a pad some don't. There are also different types of pads..you'll want a large one(big enough to cover at least half of your body at once). also some are disposable and some arn't. The disposable ones can be used for quite awhile before you need to replace it. If you dont let it set for a long period of time without using it, it last longer. Also make sure you use sterial water in the machine to avoid mineral build up in the machine and pad. If you've ever used a rice sock and got releif this machine will do wonders for your pain.. Hope this helps..Ps some insurance companies will pay for the machine. Also make sure you exercise daily and do streaches at least 3 times a day to help keep you muscles from getting to tight. Good luck...

A combination of low dose muscle relaxer and pain meds, plus light exercise/stretching to keep muscles from getting more stiff and achy. Also, don't kick an idiot who tells you that you're not in pain, even though they deserve it -- you'll just hurt your toes.

Exercise. I know it sucks and just making yourself do it is painful and exhausting but before long it does work.

like most nero pains, its hard to stop.
you need some willing to work with you and care, not just give you the popular med.
