Because you are spending the money they must pay bills with, and feed you all, and buy your clothes with. When you ask for something, is it for something selfish that will not benefit every member of the house? The ones that work say how the money will be spent, and if you want anything that they really cannot afford, then you should be making your own.
I bet you won't be so ready to spend it then.

Because, As an adult you will learn that money does not grow on trees. We work hard for that money and it is like a slap in the face when y our children do not understand what an adult does to provide for the family.
So yeah, go get a job and learn some responsiblity. It will be good for you and you can quit begging your parents for it.

They want you to be independent, not set yourself up for letdowns in life. They really are helping you. Spoiled brats make bad mates. I don't mean you are, some of my nieces an nephews are. Whine and beg all the time.. It is a parents job to help their children be independent and strong in life. You might really like working and meeting new people. It sure will help you decide if and how many children you can afford to raise. Good luck! Peace.

Because that's your first step to success...pay for yourself. My dad told me if I wanted a car, I'd need to get a job. I've been working since the age of 15...I'm 31 now, and I EARN everything I get.

how old are you. most parents want their kids to grow up be responsible and understand that money doesn't grow on trees. so you probably want something that is expensive. so work something out where you can get paid from them by doing extra work around the house.. it worked for me when i was in high school and wanted new stuff. i showed them that i had the responsibility to do the stuff they paid me and then i got what i wanted. works well both ways.

Because Money doesnt grow on trees you know....your parents have been supporting you for a long time and now its your turn to learn responsibility that is why they tell you to get a job...when you are using your own money its a lot more difficult to spend it.

So you can learn the value of money and the hard work it takes to earn it -- plus, once you have a job you can start paying for these things you want.

Maybe you are asking for so much, or things that are so expensive that they think that you should pay for it yourself?
Parents are not eternal springs of money. They have to pay for a place to live, your high-speed internet, your computer, food, clothes, school supplies, car stuff, and more.
