How much to feed depends on the food and the weight of the dog. Better quality foods take less to fill your dog up. Dogs should eat 2 times a day in measured "meals". Look at the recommendation on the container for feeding amount...feed based on your dog's weight if it's at ideal weight, less if your dog is overweight. Take the total and split it between two meals.

The amount of food depends on their size, but puppies should eat about 4 times a day, small portions. A full grown dog should eat 2-3 times a day.

It depends on the size of the dog. The bag of dog food should tell you how much to feed based on weight, but I would do the minimum amount that they suggest because you dog could get a little chubby. Also I feed my dog twice a day, you should feed puppies at least twice a day, but I don't think it matters as much with adults.

I let my dogs eat as much dry food as they want and give them 1/2 can each in the evenings. Puppies should be weaned from their mother with mushy food every 4 hours.

Alowing a puppy to eat as much as it wants lets it learn self control so it will not over eat when it gets older. Dog foods are labled telling you how much to feed per pound this may vary from dogfood to dogfood. The better the dogfood the less filler it will contain, so if you by a high quality dogfood your dog will need to eat less.

i grew up on a farm and have seen this many times you suspicions are correct it was the size of the pup what confuses me is her growling at the other pups i don't know exactly what is up with that most mothers kill the runt of the litter to start the other pups on hard food in the wild this is what the dogs would do that dog must be put down if she is going to aggressive like that to her other pups shes likely to eat them also I'm a bit worried for other dogs pups also once a dog has the taste of blood it will kill more often its just their instinct to do so.

I would honestly say that keeping food down is probably best for your growing puppy. They will decide when they are full.

the vet will generally tell you that puppies should eat twice a day, and once they are done growing once a day. At least, that's what ours has always told us.
