Since there are some Christians, and other religious persons, and some non-believers, who won't allow their world views to be changed by reading my questions or answers, would it be fair of me to whenever I see their avatar, skip over, and never consider them for reading or best answer?

Would that be fair? Since it isn't technologically available to me to put them on an "ignore"; could I actively ignore them?

Should I send an email and say, "Sorry, I'm not going to convert to your religion/atheism; and from now on when you answer my question I am going to skip over it"

Would that be fair? Why or why not?

you can do what you want, i am a bit confused though, are you saying that if someone doesn't change their views by reading your questions that there is something wrong with them?

If you can't deal with the fact that you can't change everybody's mind, then you can't deal with life and you should just give up. That's something we all had to accept at an early age. Some people will not agree or change their minds no matter what you present to them. That's just the way it is. Having a good attitude about it is the best thing that you can do. Nobody really cares if you ignore them or skip over them because you think they should just all change their minds to your way of thinking. Sorry, not much of a loss.

To me it wouldn't matter... Really, when I post an answer to someone's question with whom I am diametrically opposed to - I never really consider that they will consider my answer as best. I am posting to offer an alternative to their question, or to offer that their question has a flawed premise, or that their motivation for asking is suspect... I have gone after liberals and Democrats and atheists, sometimes with respect, sometimes quite harshly - with only one real aim - to offer my viewpoint to the Yahoo Answers community, not really to the questioner. Many of those who are at the opposite end of the spectrum from us in an argument do not hear what we are saying anyway. We change very few minds here. What I am trying to do is reach people who do not have their minds made up, or who may be misinformed or misunderstanding something in their current opinions. Or maybe just have dialog with some of those who just have an open mind and don't mind seeing what "the other side" is thinking...

I can't walk away from a challenge, and I like to offer people alternatives to what they may not hear everywhere else. I am not all that interested in what I earn for points here, as what are they really good for? My currency here is information, I seek it out and try to dispense some of the little that I have... that's all...

Good question though...

I don't know if it would be entirely fair. I have chosen people who outright disagree with me for a best answer because they presented their argument well. I've told them in the comments I don't agree but I do respect their right to say what they have said.

If we ignored all that we didn't agree with how would we know what we really believe? If we only have our own view without opposing ones reality becomes skewed.

That really depends...some of those people perhaps really are stupid and just constantly drone the same answer over and over...I sometimes encounter similarly stupid people also...

But who knows...maybe somehow, someway one of those goons eventually decides to be more open minded and gives a more thoughtful answer or response. Supposedly (most) people open up or learn eventually when bombarded with the same thing repeatedly. It would thus be better if you read the answer first...then if he/she has still stuck to their old irritating ways then just erase the answer from your mind and move on to the next one...

But as to whether it is fair or not...this is a question only you can answer...not me or anyone else. Its your Q&A...not mine or anyone else's.

I don't think it would be fair, because they may surprise you and give you a good answer. Sending them an email wouldn't do anything except possibly encourage that person to write you back and bother you or write hateful things. I say...let it be, and peace. If you want to skip their answers, then nobody will really know except you.

You raise a good point. I'm an atheist, but like many atheists I have had my experiences with religion. I feel the biggest failing these days by religious followers is they dictate who is wrong without considering their points. For me, respect for other peoples points of view are the key factors to being an atheist.

I awarded a self-professing christian the ten points a few times when a good answer was given. I try to be fair, but I'd rather give you the points most of the time. LOL

You can do whatever you want. We as Christians, have gained our ends on this site. We are sowing seeds everyday. It is God who decides what to do with them..Some fall on infertile ground (you), stony ground, among the thorns and tares, and a good part falls on fertile ground. It is obvious that you will never accept Jesus, but the blood is on your head now, because we have informed you. If we had not, then your blood would be on our heads. Amen

I don't think so. You are wanting to ignore anyone who doesn't change what they think because you told them to. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts, opinions, and world views even if they don't agree with yours.
