yes, actually there is. and ill tell you! if you want highlights or just a full hair dye, then do this. grab lots and lots of lemons, or just lemon juice, squeeze it on to the parts you want to be dyed, then sit under the sun for several hours, then go and take a shower, in the morning, your hair will be a brighter color, like if its a really dark brown, it will turn into a really light brown.

There are ways to dye your hair without it being perminent. There are semi-perminent and temporary dyes. Kool-Aid can also be used without damaging your hair. If you want to lighten your hair, DO NOT use Clorox bleach or hydrogen porixide you use to treat minor scratches. You can really damage your hair using these products and they can make your hair brittle. Plus, your hair can get very brassy and orange looking. Your best bet is to go to a Sally' Beauty Supply shop and get quality hair dyes and hair care products cheaper than going to a dept. store, and there's usually a licensed stylist working there to assist you in your quest and can answer any concerns you may have. I hope this helps you out!!

If she is blonde, or light brown haired, then a natural way to lighten is to use lemon juice. Wash hair, rinse with water, then rinse with lemon juice, and blow dry. If she needs to cover gray, or wants to go darker, I would recommend a temporary dye. Like Loreal.

I agree with henna but u wud still have to buy it.....it may be cheaper but ud have to go to a speciality store that sells indian or mid east goods......and its very strong it stays in the hair for a long time and its hard to dye over.

the natural herb henna has been used to dye hair for centuries,it is chemical free and comes in red or black shades...it is used extensively in Asia, and is available in USA as well...Its not free but its allot cheaper then regular hair dye,you can find it readily availble in Indian grocery stores or find a mail order source online. If you want to add natural highlights to blonde hair try, lemons,or chamomile tea.

Are you serious? Hair dye is so cheap... if you can't afford it now, maybe you should wait until you can, if you want to do a good job.. otherwise, I hear you can use Kool-aid, but obviously it will only dye it crazy Kool-Aid colors and washes out after you shampoo it.

some of my friends who dye their hair red use kool-aid, i know it sounds crazy, but that's what they use. They boil kool-aid and then apply it to seperate strand of hair. It looks nice, it leaves a reddish ruby color to the hair.Plus it's less expensive.
