Is she going to get kitty brain damage? She's in my lap now, purring, and she just clunked her head on the desk. She hits her head too much.

I'm sorry to say but that is the signs of feline retardation. There isn't much hope for the animal. Another sign to look for is what we call chattering. That is when the animal's bottom jaw quivers when it see something like a bird, toy, etc.

By then it is to late. I'm sure you don't want to here that you should put the animal down. By all means don't. Find yourself a little miniature helmet for the cat to wear. Also strapping the animal to a old skate board so you can drag it around on walks might not hurt either.

Hitting hard like to make a thump or just a gentle tap? Cats use head bumps to get attention. If she really is being very clumsy you might want to look in her ears. (No joke) Some times an ear infection, ear mites can make a cat off balance.
Is there a lot of black stick gunk in her ears? This is a sign of mites. If there is a discharge or her ears smell funny a vet should look at them.

Nope, check his whiskers. If they are small that is why he hits things. But they will grow. If his whiskers are OK then he is just a silly little kitty. No need to worry about brain damage. But very cute question!! =) You should call him Clumsy!

Keep giving her lots of love. I would at least have a telephone consultation with a vet about this, if there is a problem it is always best to catch it early. Good Luck

Probably it's just baby clumsiness. She'll most likely grow out of it in several weeks. If not I'd talk to a vet about it.

I have a feeling that she can't see good. I think you should take her to the Vet and have her checked out.
