Do you wish, you wouldn't have to click on questions you asked, and scroll down, and read from the same people day in and day out, that "You need Jesus" or whatever conversion attempt they make.
Would you want the following categories:
-Christianity
-Islam
-Hinduism
-Budhism
-Agnostocism
-New Age
-Atheism
-Jim_Darwinism
-Other Spirituality
Cause while I love my fellow man, having to read "You need Jesus" when its clear and obvious I won't convert, gets sorta, I don't know, inauthentic.
Which category would you frequent more often? Over there in jim_darwinism I will be, with my fellow reverse trolls, asking about life and love, and never wishing conversion, but honoring you for you.

Sounds good. You could count on my participation Mon.-Fri. 8-4 EST as usual. Tomorrow I will be 32. And it doesn't feel like a real birthday this year for some reason. I can't figure out why I keep forgetting about it myself.

Yeah, I think we need categories similar to the ones you suggest.
I think it would be easier to say which ones I would never visit. I would never visit Atheism, or Agnosticism, and I probably would never visit New Age. If there were a category where just the Pagans and Wiccans were (I don't know if that would be New Age, but it might) I wouldn't visit there either. While I respect that they (Pagans and Wiccans) don't normally slam ALL Christians, that's one of the few things I agree with them on. I think I would only visit Hinduism and Buddhism and Islam if I had a question about their faith, or to read answers, but I don't think I'd actually participate in any of those categories.
You usually have really good questions and I enjoy them. They are honest without bashing and really make me think about my answer. If your category is where other people would ask real questions, thought provoking questions, then I'd probably visit your category quite regularly. As a Christian, I would probably visit there pretty regularly too.

You need a nap, dude... is it so bad to read what others from a different perspective than you have to say? I'm not afraid of adverse opinions from people with whom I disagree, if I were, I would never be able to turn on the network news...Once in awhile you can be startled by some surprising things - and it can have a profound impact on you. Just the other day, I had to reflect upon the fact that I no longer say that 95% of network news is either useless jawflapping about celebrities, mouthing the words of the Democrat National Committee, or completely misleading people with half-baked, partial information. I saw a story that actually had some substance and meaning to it... so I can't say that anymore. What? Oh sorry, I guess it was a commercial for "Girls Gone Wild," - sorry...
Wouldn't life be grand if everything was perfect and there was nothing in our lives that irritated or offended us, and always meshed with what we believe...

While it does get unpleasant to hear certain things all the time I feel divisions no matter where they are only hurt in the long run. For every one that only preaches there are ones that are truly good people who care about you as a person and wouldn't change you. One could miss that and that one is worth 100 of the others.
If it did get split I'd try to at some point or another visit all categories. I believe we have a lot to learn from each other; we just have to learn how to ignore those that only wish to cause unsettlement.

Since you asked so nicely----
Yes, I think the categories should be separated. I would be more inclined to visit Other Spirituality. I, too, do not like reading "...find Jesus..." or "...God...". I am disinclined towards organized religion but I don't consider myself an atheist. I suppose I could be considered an agnostic but I'm not sure (heh heh). Jim_Darwinism would rate a look, also.
Loved the question.

It would show how out of the way some people will go to bash or try to convert others. If you're a Christian, and youre in the atheism category...why? and vice versa.

That wouldn't stop a rabid fanantic (ANY religion or nonreligion) from posting to the people they're trying to convert. It'd just give them more targets to choose from.
I for one like the "melting pot" atmosphere of this category. As much as I like my fellow Pagans, Heathens, and Witches, talking to no one else but them would get old after awhile.

What? And then who would we all patronize?? Sheesh, Jim_Darwin! That's no FUN! What's the point of taking any position on religion at all if not to be snide towards the non-believers?? Why, if we did that it would be like being agnostics or something!! It would be too horrible to comprehend for most people!

Pretty good idea! I'll be in Buddhism, cause I am a Buddhist. But I'm pretty sure - even if Yahoo separates it, they'll still be Christians in every category writing "You need Jesus".

I think Yahoo! gave up on this category a while ago ... too much inappropriate content (from all sides) and too few genuine questions/answers ... most are bait to push ideologies on others.
