Aren't you supposed to be as tall or near the height of your parents?

It doesn't make sense. My dad is born in Asia, around 5'6". And I am 6'2" born in the USA. :/ So I guess I proved that isn't true. And also, my dad is sort of chubby, and i'm skinny, etc. And no, I don't look like my mom. my mom isn't tall either.

well it could skip a generation.....but i notice that children tend to grow taller than their parents.....my moms 5'5"....my dads 5'7"....and i'm 5'8" and my bro is 6'3"....my dad said that his father was quite tall....so maybe thats how my bro got his height

Usually, you can expect to be somewhere around the avg of the parents, + or - a couple inches. That being said, nutrition, genes, and probably other stuff all influence height (and weight).

That is because it isn't true. there are dominant genes and excessive genes. Dominant genes usually win out. Sometimes recessive genes win out ex: Two brown eyed parents have a blue eyed child, etc etc

genetics dont have to go in specific order of descent. the genes that deturmine height can often skip a generation or two or even remain dormant for many generations and then appear.

kids are usually taller than their parents because as an adult you start to shrink but also, your height could come from another relative, say a grandparent, aunt or uncle.

Not exactly. I'm 5'9. My mom is 5 even and my day is 6'6. Yeah, it was a very odd wedding picture.
