Thank you for clearing those things up. I am an Atheist as well. I have also tried to explain some of these points before. Unfortunately they do not always listen.

I agree with everything you wrote. I hope that people will become less judgemental about atheists. I am almost an atheist myself, I am deeply skeptical but I am not sure we can say there is no God for sure, some days I do feel like I believe in a higher power of some sort. I know atheists who are wonderful people and who do much to make this world a better place. I think overall there are many good atheists and there are also bad atheists but I think the same could be said of people coming from any religious tradition.
I wish you much peace and happiness!

I hate to say that it's "wrong." It makes me feel judgemental and arrogant to put it that way. However, I myself am a Bible-believing Christian missionary, who has seen miracles done in the name of Jesus, and who desires that all men have the freedom that He offers.
I wouldn't say it's wrong, though I would say it's a problem. According to the Bible all of man has a sin problem. We're all born into sin, and live in sin our entire lives. (Atheism negates this problem, because it asserts that there is no God, hence no standard of sin, hence no rules). The problem with atheism is that it leaves a man unprepared to face the judgement of God at the end of His life. It's like facing cancer without making any attempt at chemo, or surgery, etc.
Furthermore, because atheism denies God's existence, it separates the victims of the sin nature from the only available cure. Whatever guilt or wrongdoing or regrets a man may have can never be completely erased except by the blood sacrifice of Jesus, which He willing made for you, even while you were enemies (Romans 5:8). If you don't believe in Christ, you cannot be rescued and you face the trial of your eternity with neither the law nor any lawyer on your defense.
Atheism is upsetting to me, because it makes assertions that cannot be proven, such as, an all-powerful God could not exist if I can't see Him. This isn't scientific.
Furthermore, when you approach science with a question, (where did we come from?), but you automatically remove possibility #1, (we were designed and created by a Creator), then you have disabled the scientific method, and reduced it to a possibly pointless guessing game. No matter how scientific you get beyond that point, you still can't call it good science, because you aren't considering all the factors.
Evolution, is, at its root, an opiate of the masses. Billions of people believe it without question because it's "science" and it's what the "intellectuals" believe. But what it's really doing is blinding you from the true issue, that you must turn to Christ or face the judgement that He's trying to keep you from. It's not fun or appealing to look at life this way when you aren't a Christian. It certainly won't sell any scientific textbooks, make anyone famous or rich, or get any research grants. It takes a humble and open mind to consider this truth, instead of blindly swallowing the "evolution pill" that the drug-dealing "scientific" community is trying to sell you.
If it helps you sleep at night to think of yourself as a free thinker and intellectual who has completely considered all the possibilities, checked every corner of the universe and beyond, and conclusively decided that God doesn't exist, then go your way, and rest easy in your own omniscience. However, if it's possible that everyone who's told you that atheism is the thinking man's path just might have had an ulterior motive within their own soul, perhaps you should offer up a prayer to God, in humility, and say, Lord, if you're there, please show me.
Blessings.

I'm really sorry that people continue to give you and other atheists such a hard time. That's not what believing in God is all about. I am a firm believer in God's existence, because I've experienced God's hand in my life way too many times not to believe, but I respect yourdecision to be an atheist ,as others should. It is your choice, and God doesn't force Himself upon anyone. All I ask is that you keep an open mind,as I do. One day,you may face certain circumstances that may very well change your opinion.

There is no such thing as an atheist. There are only people who are still seeking the truth about " life, greater power, God and the meaning of their existence. To say you are an atheist is to say that you do not believe in your own existance. You cannot honestly say that there is nothing but the moment i am in and none of it means anything, which essentially the statement " I am an atheist" I know for certain that we exist out side of the tent we call our bodies because when i was a child i died and was resusitated. While i was dead my spirit floated above the whole scene, watching them pull me out of the water and do CPR, i saw other things as well while i was floating and can tell you with perfect certainty that life is more than the moment we exist in. If you truely believed there was nothing more than you existing in your current tent you would go mad. Stop being angry and research the truth, God says if you seek Him you will find Him.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with being an atheist. I am not one, but I respect the right to believe as each individual wishes. I am not a Christian either, or a Buddhist, or Islamic. I have my own beliefs which are really not recognized under any religious umbrella. The closest "religion" I can relate to is Deism. I am mightily annoyed by religious extremists though. It's hard to tolerate anyone who beats others over the head with their own religious beliefs.

There's nothing inherently bad about atheists.
The problem is that a number of them are very aggressive about their beliefs. They try to tell us, through scientific reasons, that our beliefs are wrong.
Even this wouldn't be a problem because one of the main objectives of religion(s) is to preach the faith.
However, atheist preachers, as you might call them, don't have the idea of a greater good or a higher power or a heaven or a spirit in mind when they talk.
They come at us like we're dumb adn they're "intellectuals" who understand things a whole lot better. They come off like superior humans who are plain annoyed with our "primitive" religious ideas.
The bottom line is that when an atheist tries to convert a religious person, they're insulting. They're the only ones who are insulting, in my experience. And, and I imagine many people will agree with me on this, being insulting is no way to gain followers or make friends. It only makes the insulted people angry.
If you aren't an insulting atheist; if it is simply your belief, then that's fine. I don't care. I have no prejudice.
On the other hand, you may have prejudices from people trying to convert you to their side.
Maybe it's a vicious cycle.
But at least I'm not a jerk about promoting my beliefs. I'm just consistent.

I can't say that there is anything "wrong" with your choice.
I only know the joy and peace that have been in my life since becoming a Christian. I hope the same for everyone. I choose to believe and I stick by it. It is in my heart and has become part of who I am, like how I feel when I sing, or draw(I'm passionate about it). Being Christian makes me feel free, like I was born to do it.
If being Atheist does that for you and you are comfortable with there being nothing else when you die, I wish you the best.

People like to *****, and complain, because they (in reality) have no life. Seriously just believe in what you believe in. No one AT ALL has the right to tell you that it's wrong. If you are a good person and don't hurt others, what the hell does it matter to other people? They just want to feel powerful by running someone down. I'm catholic, I don't have any problem with any other religion. It's what you do and how you live your life that matters.
Tell them all to piss off.

IT ISN'T wrong. Religion brings hope for an afterlife. Atheists believe in the life they already have and try to make it as full as it can get. I think you should check out the following site. I know you will agree with the philosophy. www.churchofsatan.com
