Honestly I dont think you have to. But you have to get the fathers permission in order to let your boyfriend adopt her.

Because he's your boyfriend and you're not married. Therefore if he adopted her, she would have his name, and then would be "his" daughter. Since you technically have no blood connection to your bf and you are not related through marriage, you'd have to adopt her as well.

you dont have to adopt her too. what are you talking about?? if it is your biological daughter, how exactly would you adopt her?? and you better be sure about your b/f. adoption is not a joke.

if she is your biological daughter you do not have to adopt her however you will have to sign paperwork giving your consent for him to adopt her....and im not trying to scare you but if hes only your boyfriend i think that i would assess this situation a little better....you do understand what it means when he adopts her dont you?...it means that he has as much right to her as you do...meaning if you break up he can legally take her from you...if hes willing to commit to you in this fashion then why not marry?

I wouldn't have thought that you would need to adopt your own daughter...that's just weird.
You'd need permission from the girl's biological father though, if he's still living.

I've not heard of that, but it's possibly not necessarily you 'adopting' her, but more of you signing your consent for him to adopt her.

because you arent married and you have to let the state know that you are going to be this guys live in whore.
they will want to know who to blame when your little girl needs therapy.
