In general, of more importance than calories is the nutrient density of food. You can eat your daily calorie requirement in one sitting at McDonald's and get little in the way of nutrition - or eat 10 salads and get very few calories and still very little nutrition. for an average human... between 2500 to 3000. Dietary info on packages are set up for a 2000 calorie diet which really isn't enough to make a terd!

I agree with the first answer, but in not so many words. I think average is 2000. But that all depends on your body and metabolism and how active you are.
