If no sex is involved? Fine. However, we all know the reality...
Really bad idea. Depending on the state in question, there are varying penalties for what they call "statutory rape" or "statutory sexual seduction." Regardless of what they call it, it basically means if you have sex with a minor, whether you know they are not of age or not, you are held strictly liable for your action. This means the mere act of sex convicts you of the crime, regardless of your intent. Further, her parents could request criminal prosecution and she does not have to agree to it.
Additionally, the penalties vary from state to state, and also can in turn depend on the age difference between the two parties. For example, State "A" could impose harsher penalties if she were a certain amount of years younger than you, while State "B" may not consider it a crime at all for an 18 year old to have sex with a 16 year old, but if the younger party was actually 15, it would be a felony. And so forth...
Find out what the law in your state is. Go to a law library, look up the relevant statute, and find out what it *says.* Then find out how courts interpret it. You'll need a lawyer or someone familar with the system to assist you.
Best advice? Put it back in your pants until the magic number 18 hits. Be aware, however, that you can still be prosecuted for what you did when she was 17, even after she turns 18, for a period of seven years after the last time you had sex when she was underage.
Good luck.

There's nothing wrong with that, it's not like yore 18 and she's like 14 she's only a year younger than you,It's just like my girl, she's only a year and a few months younger than me and im 19,and az far as im concerned, no one has said anything, and it's not against the law unless you want it to be, so relax, your not doing anything wrong. In many states 17 & 18 is legal because you are so close in age. That could be two high school seniors. Most likely the girl is more mature either way around.

Where on earth did this come from, against the law. It is only against the law if you have sexual intercourse with a girl under 18 in most places. (In UK it is 16)..........

she's close to the leagal age so who gives a crap, age is just a number anyways. Just think my husband is 26 and I'm 21. We met when I was 16. Big age difference between you and her. Go with it and just make sure that if u do anything before she is 18 she wont say anything.

shes under 18 but its not like your 20 something. And besides in order to get in trouble you have to be having sex with her and her parents would have to press charges against you for statutory rape. And i dont kow how the law would work on that because she only a year younger.
