I hear that! I am glad to see that I am not the only one concerned.

If you don't like people talking about the bible, then why are you here, there's plenty of other questions you could be looking at. The bible is just a story book after all and Lot's of those so called bible bashers as you call them never bother to question it, if they did and was to check some of the text against some of the original Hebrew text they would realise the bible is wrong in many places due to bad translation, so this site gives people the change to see that FACT.

I bash, because Christianity and Islam are two sides of the same coin. Intolerant religions that threaten (i.e. believe this or suffer in hell for all eternity) and coerce you into believeing their lies.
I do actually believe in some sort of "Creator" for numerous reasons, including sometimes I just feel he/she/it, but there being a Creator and there being a Jesus/Allah/God are wholly different things. You need to accept we are on a journey of discovery about the true nature of the universe. You don't have to just skip to the end and believe whatever your parents told you. The ONLY truth in this debate is that I don't know the truth and either do you.
Anyway, that is besides the point. Be prepared - the world is awakening and seeing the need for a new social conscience that unites instead of divides. I am certain that this will include many of the concepts within organized religion but without the fake superstition and dogma that goes along with it.
I know I will never be able to convince the majority of you to be open-minded and learn to be comfortable without knowing. But ask yourself what is really wrong with a philosophy/worldview that accepts EVERYONE's believes but recognizes that they are only beliefs and not fact. Instead concentrating on the journey and the quest for truth instead of pretending we know the answers already.
The fact is a world-view that does not allow for the beliefs of others will detract from ever achieving a peaceful world. If you can't learn to be comfortable and accepting of others beliefs than you are demanding to be bashed. Open your eyes, all signs point to the man made nature of religion, from the gaping inconsistincies, to the unification through an "your either with us or against us" stance, to the number of religions that all claim the majority of the world (that doesn't believe what they do) are going to hell, to the eerie similarity between religions. I recognize the discomfort in not knowing, but isn't it better to confront the truth than hiding behind a false ideology.
In the end the world is what WE make it. If we want peace and a socially conscious world then WE can achieve it, but we must let go of outdated philosophies that divide instead of unite.

I do my share of praying and reading scriptures. Lots of my prayer time is spent asking God's blessings on the people that post questions to this site. I don't preach at any of you, I don't judge any of you. I share my blessings and offer my prayers. I wish you happiness and I will continue to pray for each of you out there. God Bless You All.

You, on the other hand, are a basher, and youre PREYING on thier unintelligence...with lack of respect for their beleifs. Yes, we all know how silly it is to beleive in God - but that gives you no right to make statements like this. Its people like you that make religious people hate Atheists.

Hello Larry R.. :)
I think you meant to say Bible Thumpers..
I have already read the scriptures today..I go to the Lord in prayer every morning and every nite..sometimes during the day, when the Spirit leads me.. :)
We are called to preach the word in season and out of season..
Jesus told us to:
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

There aren't. It is just people who are blind spiritually who cannot stand the truth being shared who are prejudiced enough to call them Bible Bashers.

how is expressing your faith bashing people with a bible?
and how is it that making a comment about someone's nationality, gender or physical appearance is considered racist, sexist or judgmental, while calling someone a bible basher is ok?
truly, i would love to know how this double standard of what's ok to say came about. if you, the asker of this question can tell me why it's ok to call me a bible basher when it wouldn't be ok to call me names associated with my race or gender, i'd really appreciate it. my faith is, in fact, more important than my race or gender, so it better be a good reason.
patiently awaiting your reply

Perhaps we're praying for YOU while we're answering sad and uninformed questions such as this. By the way...I don't bash any Bible...read and study, perhaps, but NEVER bash!
