A wedding doesn't have to have a theme. Just keep it pretty, not tacky.

You don't really need a theme. Don't panic. :) You have a while yet, anyhow. If the wedding is in May and the colors will be lilac and cream, then just do a spring theme. Include alot of flowers, and maybe all white christmas lights. Candles, flowers and soft lighting (white x-mas lights.. round trees, bushes, etc.) Anything soft and elegant will look beautiful, especially outside and in the spring. Good Luck, and congratulations:)

Just do something simple for the reception do a garden type theme... that would look really pretty with the lilac color...i'm sure you could find lots of decorations to go with that... especially with an outdoor wedding.....

good luck and congrats...!

My husband and i got married outside and we all wore different colors but colors that went together. I think a simple wedding is the prettiest but if u really want a theme i would go with white doves.

Some things that come to my mind are:

Lilacs
Violets
Wisteria
Butterflies
Thistles (great for a Celtic wedding)
Wildflowers

Are you and your fiance into any hobbies?
Some sample themes:
Civil War Wedding
Renaissance
Beach theme (seashells, etc.)
Celtic
Victorian

Just remember- this is supposed to be fun. . .don't stress, and laugh a lot! You want the whole experience to be fun, not just the wedding day!

Do you need a theme? Why not make it lilacs or purple and white. You can do lilacs with white roses (some flowers I like are:

Then have lilac dresses with white sashes and lilac and white invitations. You can have favors be a lilac bulb in a planting pot and white linens and dishes. It would be really beautiful.

Good Luck!
