sorry to hear abt it.
there is no time frame u can put on depression.. sometimes u take 1 few mths to a few yrs to get over the death of someone u love so dearly. dun give yrself pressure. take yr time to find the light.. but if it overly affects yr normal life, pls seek help from a fellow family member, or a close frd.. or a doctor..

To miss someone after 6 months is not unusual. My dad has been dead over 30 years and I still miss him, and hurt at times for not having him around. To be in a depression is not normal. You need to seek help. Frist try your spiritual leader or grief counseling. If that does not help find a doctor

At odd times, the rest of your life, you will still remember the person/ miss them, but as was said earlier, maybe you should talk to a professional grief councilor(it was a little over 6 months for me when last I lost someone)

Immense love has created this problem. You should understand that every body has to go that way - you, me and all others. Therefore it is useless to be depressed. Do any constructive work in the memory of your family member. That is the only way to memorise, not just weaping.

After my mom died, I was depressed for like a year...so I decided to take a bereavement session at Hospice and they said it can take up to 10 years. For me it is coming up on 3 years and though I have my days, it is getting better. Hang in there and consider the Hospice class option.

People might say that in time you'll get over it. However I believe that to be a misnoma. I do think that you will learn to live with your grief and when that happens it won't hurt nearly as much. As for how long? Nobody can say accurately.

i think you have to go through the year and experience all the relative dates. At least after the first year you have some experience in dealing with the feelings. Don't be afraid to get some help.

Better get help. My dad died, then I lost my job and then I got a divorce and then my grandpa died, all in a period of 3 years. I climbed into a bottle and stayed there for 8 years. Was not pretty.

Possibly a year, but it DOES get better with time. Consider talking to your doctor about it.
