If their own "lifestyles" make them not take adequate care of the children, then yes it is cruel.

For using the money to maintain a safe and happy home for their children, then no. Not all the money need be spent directly on the children- it's the all-around caring for that matters.

Yes they are, if its for the children then that's it. Should any parent spend it on themselves then its theft in my eyes. Now if one is awarded a big payout in compensation that's a different matter as they would have to buy a larger property etc, they main thing is that the child or children are taken care off.

No, disability benefit is given to children, not as pocket money to go to town and spend on rubbish or as a prize for being disabled, it is given to make their life better, and Any decent parent would take that money and use it for holidays, for better Christmas presents, for outings, for better food that the kid enjoys and all in all to try to make life better for the child, BUT also the family who DO suffer when a child is disabled, especially so if the child is autistic or out of control and the parents have a hard time, it is also not fair to the siblings( brothers and sisters) if the disabled child has fantastic things and clothes whiled they have rags, it has to be in perspective. 'why don't you ask the government what it is meant for.

I think they are cruel if it's not benefitting the children involved.. But you still have to pay rent, put food on the table and buy clothes, shoes and pay bills. Are these kids taken well care of?

Get a life and grow up, can a disabled child with emotional problems know how to spend that amount of money, and you didn't specify how it was spent, was it on a better life for you or what else, was it for your broadband on your computer, to replace all the things you destroyed, to give you the expensive food you demanded???????

Yes, they are selfish and cruel. The money is sent to them to take care of their children. Not to go out and paint the town red. Shame on them.

They are disgusting.
I work with these types. I keep a can of Glade at my desk JUST for this reason.
I see women come in (perfectly capable of working), with $1800 in checks, their rent is FREE through HUD, they recieve food stamps AND they get free telephone service.
Their children ALWAYS smell, wear tattered ill fitting clothes and look like their hair has not been washed in weeks.
The mothers usually have JUST been to the Vietnamese nail salon, some drive newer model cars even.
I get pretty angry.
The 3 worst:
a little girl, first grade, who was sent to school wearing a pillow case fastened with a diaper pin for a skirt and an enormous Tweety Bird tee shirt (probably her mothers) for a top that showed her nipples at the neck, because it was so huge.
a little girl who ate crayons out of her desk because she was so hungry, when home visited, we found the mother had "soiled" the couch with her own excrement and not bothered to clean up
a little girl and boy whose mother "home schooled" them, all day they are delivering newspapers while mommy sits in her car screaming at them to run and hurry

Very often, parents don't make good parents. Sometimes it takes a village to raise a child. What have you done today, for the children?
