I was watching Band of Brothers and Captain Speirs seemed so mysterious and hard nosed gutsy, shoot first and ask questions later kind of guy. What happened to the Speirs when he went home?

He served in Korea where I believe he commanded a company and then later served as Commandant at Spandau. He retired for the Army a Lt. or Full Colonel. It tells you what happened to each of the men of Easy Company at the end of the last episode.
One of the best documentary/Movies ever made...IMHO

He became Military governor of Spandau Prison in Germany, where they sentenced seven Nazi war criminals. These included Rudolf Hess, Walther Funk, and Erich Raeder who faced life sentences. Albert Speer and Baldur von Schirach faced 20 year sentences while Konstantin von Neurath had 15 and Karl Dönitz 10 years in the prison.

I thought it was implied that he stayed in the Army with the 101st.
