The best thing that Mexico could do for its' people right now is put a guy even with each of our border patrollers and tell em to turn around and go to Mexico City and sign up to get a job. And, we need to finish out the border fence. Sure, it's 1800 miles or so, but that's NOTHING compared to the interstate system or the railroad projects that helped shape the country to begin with.
They need to rebuild their country. That's not gonna happen if everyone keeps trying to move out and go to the US. There's no reason that Mexico can't have interstate highways, yes, they have states, they've got people that can build stuff, they've probably got rock and stuff so they can make their own concrete,
so there's nothing really stopping them but fear and good sense from having freeways, and as soon as their 'hard working' construction crews get done with that, they can start building schools, hospitals, and police stations, too. It's all about the infrastructure. The sooner they get it built, the sooner they'll be able to provide for their own people. The sooner that happens, the sooner their people will stop trying to use ours. And no, Mexico doesn't need to become the 51st state to do all that. They have the means all by themselves, just lack the initiative. That's why I think the border fence is such a great idea. If the 'easy out' of fleeing the scene to america is no longer a choice, maybe we'll start seeing some progress, there, and they'll pay their own way on it, too. Frankly, with all the money that leaves our economy each year and goes to theirs, it's kind of questionable why all this hasn't happened already, like 20 years ago. The simple answer is, it's easier to just live off the United States than it is to put all that drive and initiative into taking care of their own problems. Also, if they always have these 'problems', then they always have a 'good reason' to come begging for MORE help.
Mexico's dependent on the United States, TOO dependent. They could be fiendishly wealthy, but no, but no. I don't know who you blame for that, but it's time I believe to ask Mexico to stand up and be independent. We don't go to their country trying to live off em for free, how about a little reciprocity, here? I can mow grass, paint, carry out the trash, and cook my own meals, I neither require nor desire a mexican maid/housekeeper/gardener etc. Nor do I believe that a vast majority of american households 'need' any such thing either, when it comes right down to it. Further, I think it's irresponsible of them to continue to come to our country illegally. Legal immigration's one thing, that i mplies some sort of acknowledgement that you're changing countries, and that you have at least minimal respect for the laws,
what we've got now is a MESS and it's reflected in public aid and law enforcement/incarceration statistics. Mexico's problem has become OUR problem, somehow, and as we go deeper in debt to the tune of 2 billion a day, they STILL don't act in their own behalf to take concrete steps to fix their country. We're not splitting the atom, here, this is NOT rocket science, it's simple basic practical answers to long-standing problems. Infrastructure, schools, medicine, the same things that've helped improve our country can improve theirs. They need to provide it for themselves, though.

They ALL are not coming here. We happen to live in a great country despite all her shortcomings and President Bush. This is the land of opportunity. Everybody deserves a chance. I don't particularly agree with sneaking in this country, but we never know someone's circumstance until we ask. I only want to go to Mexico for vacation.

Are you joking? That would accomplish nothing. The mexicans want to come here for better lifestyles. If we were to go to Mexico that would be rubbing it in their faces.

I don't think so. Unlike most of you Americans we were not borne in a country made great by the sacrafice and vision of others. You sit back and judge people when, in fact, you yourselves have done nothing to contribute to the great nation you have inherited. I bet most of you complaining haven't even served in your Armed Forces. Hell I came here after finishing school in Guadalajara and I write English better than most of you gringos.

You know your question isn't bad.....except that it points out only Mexicans.......and they are not the only ones that come here illegally......
I honestly feel, that we as Americans should start looking at other countries to migrate to......I think that eventually we will have to get over ourselves and open our minds........There are lots of opportunities all over the world....but we just sit here...

if we gave the us to mexico, and took mexico for ourselves, then the dirty mexicans would be back at the border, trying to get into mexico.
its not about geography, its about white people.
the mexicans need to be in the white persons world in order to get free benefits and jobs. any area that is run by brown people is going to be a hell hole that they want to get away from!
