I have no idea!
About the people saying that we have to repsect everyone the constitution doesnt specify. These people are ILLEGAL - ILLEGAL = CRIME, when people commit crimes in our country they are punished, why are we not punishing the illegals?

Because we are Americans that is why.
We for the most part believe in compassion and mercy to those less fortunate than we are.
I do not know of anyone who thinks that the illegal immigrants are entitled to the same benefits as Americans. This would be a slap in the face to those who have come here and followed the legal route and become citizens and are loyal to their new country. I feel very strongly about this when I say we are not getting after the right people about this thing folks.
The people who are hiring these immigrants are the ones who need to be punished and severely for their participation in the deception of the American people. I do not care how much the job market is not what Americans desire. How in the world are these poultry processing plants and farm and harvest workers ever going to make the companies improve the wages and working conditions if these people are right there scooping up the jobs as they exist.
It cannot continue in this way.
the ones who are illegally providing green cards and passports, those who are knowingly hiring these people are the ones who need their hindends put in prison. Now. if you put the fear of real punishment into these owners they will stop it. Take away the profit they are making from hiring them and they will stop doing it.

Quote: "Why do people think that illegal aliens have the same rights that Americans do?"
What people are you talking about? You are generalizing a huge problem in this country and make assumptions that they don't want to be Americans.
Maybe they do but can't. Maybe they do want to become tax paying citizens but are not allowed to.
Quote: "So what makes some think they should be granted the same rights?"
Maybe not the same rights. Rights are earned by tax paying citizens and legal resident aliens.
They do deserve fair treatment and evaluation of their circumstances.
Why?
Because they are human.

This is an easy answer. One of the basic questions on the U.S. citizenship exam is: "Who is granted the rights guaranteed by the constitution", the answer, "anyone in the domain of the United States." This is part of the constitution, whether you are just passing through, here on a student visa, are a citizen, or an illegal alien. To change this, you'd have to amend the constitution. This is why the hostages at GITMO have even been granted a right to a lawyer and a trial, since military bases are considered U.S. domain. Certain privileges are granted by prescription, such as voting, holding elected office, etc. But the rest (i.e., free speech, trial by jury, etc.) are guaranteed to anyone who steps foot in our domain. Just as if American citizen stepped foot in another country, they are no longer protected by the rights of the U.S. constitution, because they are no longer under its domain.

Some people treat everyone equally. They used to be called "Christians" but now they are called other names.
Also some people don't care about a line in the sand and treat people as they would themselves. This was the Golden Rule first taught by Confucius.
Simply put most people would say that everyone deserves the same rights. If you don't then you are what is referred to as an elitist. Elitists vary in extremes from the money-grubbing bankers to full blown Fascist Republicans.
In the end silly things like who has certain rights won't matter much. The world will meld into a unified Earth and we will intermingle our cultures into a core humanity. This may take awhile but nonsensical questions like who has certain rights are just nonsense in the grand scheme of things.
That said, it usually is more beneficial to proactively give people rights than to take them away.

They Don't...14th article USA bill of Rights. Also the first Article of the USA Constitution guarantees that the United Sates shall keep its borders defended and secure. Any president since L B Johnson has committed treason every day that the borders have been insecure and not defended.

Because face to face its hard to say your wrong for being alive here. But I think the path to citizenship should be made more clear in a way they understand. That way they could see the U.S. exploitation of labor and be guided toward a higher standard of living. They do not have the same rights until they aquire citizen status but they are very much as human as we are and beloved of god, so why not give them a chance if they want to be here.

I have no clue. I am currently unemployed and looking for work and I have been an American all of my life. I really don't appreciate an illegal coming over here and getting a job(some that pay pretty well too).
They should be sent back to their home countries.
