Two weeks ago my boyfriend of a year told me (though not straight out) that he didn't love me and he was never getting married and he just thought I should know so that I could make a decision. He said we could still date or be friends. I chose to be friends.
He has started calling again this week; but I have not returned the calls because he did not leave a message and when we broke up he was very annoyed and insulting to me because I was crying and did not know what to say.
I have had some time to re-coup now; and I do not want to date him again. But I am still hurt and miss him and feel that I need some more time before I can just casually chat with him.
If he's calling for a specific purpose (like to get some of his things back) that's fine. I am happy to oblige. But I am not ready to act like nothing happened yet and that we are pals. And I'm not sure that I should. And I really don't feel like being talked down to right now as I'm just trying get on with my life.

I just went through a similar situation...
As cold as he was when he broke up with you, you don't owe him anything--not even a phone call. If you still have some of his stuff, pack it up and have it handy in case he comes looking for it. He should leave you a message if there's something specific that he needs.
You are going to miss him, but you will probably find that the longer you are apart the easier it will get. Being just friends would be really hard to do with someone you were with for a year and especially after the way he broke it off with you. Maybe sometime way down the road you can be friends with him, but for now just find yourself and spend time with your REAL friends and move on! Life goes on so go on with it!

yea i know what you mean my boyfriend and i were dating for 7 months. and now sometimes he acts as if nothing happened and he wants to be all buddy buddy and everything and yet if i ask him if we r friends or not cuz if we were i didn't know it and he gets all mad at me and won't answer my question and stuff so it is all just very confusing. and i know i am definitely not getting back together with him even though other people say i will and stuff.
but anyway getting to the point.... i think that you definitely shouldn't get back together with him. and if u do decide to be friends then don't be really close friends.

Don't call him..move on as how you are doing right now..Why ppl date..they date is to wish to have someone who can love them forever and eventually be their husband and have their own family in future..
But i don't see that happening in your ex bf's mind..I should regard him as childish thinking..He's young i guess..He still wanna try out many things out there,that's why he don't wanna think of married yet..Don't waste your youth and time on this kind of person..His things you can just throw away or what..don't let him get it back..If he really wants, ask someone to help you pass it to him..Don't see him at this period of time...Once you see him, u will go back to me..Trust me..
