If you want the state level, check your state's corrections department website. Most will send you to basic training once you are hired, but some require it prior to hiring usually through a local community college or vo tech school.
For Federal, you must be 37 years old or younger. You would have to apply and get hired and then they send you to basic training at GLYNCO, GA. Try www.bop.gov for more info.

Usually you take a correction officers civil service exam in the state that you want to work. Check with this department in your area.

Training services. occasionally you will find an ad in the paper of one in your area. Or you can go online and search for law enforcement courses in the area. You dont need schooling or a degree, just training to receive a valid certificate will be good enough to get you a position.

go to the police station and ask a cop. you will have to take post secondary schooling and go to a certain bundle of colleges. Good luck and thanks for serving and protecting
