We are trying to explain to our almost 16-year-old son how expensive his car insurance will be, but I can't find anything on the web to prove it to him. I would settle for just an high/low average to show him.

Not sure in texas but most states will not give to a 16yr old have to be on parents policy till 18 and the parent policy will almost double

when i was 17 my ins. was $120 a month for liability on a peace of junk car. today i'd say it would be more like $150 to $200 per month depending on his driving record and car.

Just log into progressive.com, take the vin off of one of your vehicles, and run a quote for him. I bet it's $3,000 to $5,000 depending on your coverage.
