I know it's illegal, but so was Christianity at one time.

Definately not. Cannibus is used for good. Never is this drug smoked to actually cause harm. To some it is medically necessary due to medical conditions. It releases stress for those that are depressed, it helps make a healthy appetite for those who are unable to eat, and takes physical pain away. It even helps those who suffer conditions that make them unable to sleep. I do not agree to those who oversmoke or those that choose to smoke then drive under this influence but most people usually don't. I am not religious however this drug was created by 'god' and brought to us with good intentions. Our government only labels it 'illegal' because they are unable to tax it for the fact that we are able produce it ourselves ... and the market for it is huge. Like you said 'god' created wine, but it is only a sin to get drunk. Pot does screw you up, but alcohol and lots of other medications do a lot worse. Medicine which is used for good also has side effects. Birth control is legal but may also cause blood clots, strokes or even hearts attacks. 'God' asks you to keep your body pure ... marijuana is pure and is grown from the ground. Lots of things that intake daily with out a second thoughi aren't pure like soda & even foods... medications that you take are 'purely' chemical. Coffee is a drug as well ... having the same effects as 'crack' but it is legal because they are able to benefit from it. Coffee & alcohol are so much worse to your body & mind but it isn't illegal. Alcohol isn't because they are able to put taxes on it, which are high, therefore they don't benefit from it a great deal. The 'sinical' part comes to those who abuse the high. It surely is a luxury to those who need it whether if it's for medical or recreational reasons.

Romans 3 tells you to obey the law. Your reasoning makes it sound that if Christianity was illegal at one time, then anything that is illegal is okay, because the law may change. Does that include murder, speeding, bank robbery?
Pot screws you up, you may like it so much that you don't accept the truth, but pot is bad. Eventually it will ruin your life. I'm not saying this because I "read" it somewhere. I know because I have given 15 years of "second chances" to a worthless doper.

You could make a case towards over-indulging in pot, I suppose, and it would be Biblical. Nonetheless, you might be rather proper. Alas, lots of Christian wanna-bees appear to think that if some thing is unlawful, it have to additionally for this reason be a sin. EDIT: k...I know that we are to obey the rightful laws of the land. We're not, nonetheless, to obey legal guidelines that conflict with the will of God. For example, most Christians will tell you that abortion is a sin. Christians will tell you that it is homicide...Which, of path, it's. It's authorized for children to have sex out of wedlock...It is illegal for any teacher in a public institution to train abstinence as a way of delivery control. But most Christians will let you know that intercourse outside of marriage is a sin. As you say, consuming alcohol isn't a sin within the Bible. But selling it on Sunday is still unlawful in many areas. So, is it okay to drink on Saturday, however a sin to drink on Sunday? Truly, we must attempt to be good residents, I agree. We will have to obey the rightful laws of the land. That does not imply that whatever being unlawful makes it a sin, any more than anything being legal makes it now not a sin. [shakes her head sadly] For once I accept as true with the atheists about good judgment and purpose. Fevvinsake, Christians, consider about this stuff earlier than you kind out a "canned response". PLEASE?? For Christ's sake??? (i ponder how many Christian wanna-bees informed you about how smoking pot is unhealthy in your physique, understanding good and well that they smoke tobacco. How many have an ash tray helpful?)

Like that is a valid comparison. Typical rationalization, but you have to to continue smoking pot, because to face truth would ruin pot for you. So bottom line, yes it is because you are breaking a moral and legal civil law that is not in conflict with the Church. There, happy you asked? No you aren't. Will it change anything for you, of course it won't. Party on.

Read this messege, and once you get this straight, then you will know the answer to your question.

Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God's name in vain? It's appointed to man, once to die, then judgment. When you die, God will judge you by His Moral Laws. If you stand guilty before God on Judgment day, you will end up in Hell. The good news is that God is so kind that He provided a way for you to be forgiven and accepted into Heaven. Jesus Christ died on a cross and rose again to pay the debt for your sins. What you must do is Repent, which means to turn away from your sins, ask God's Forgiveness, and put your complete Trust in Jesus Christ. Only then will you be forgiven, and granted Eternal life in Heaven.

I believe that everybody finds god in their own way. If you believe it to be a sin, then perhaps it is for you. It's certainly illegal, FWIW, and isn't the best way to treat your body.

Personally, I think eating processed foods with high sodium content, a ton of high fructose corn syrup, caffeine, and hydrogenated fats is a sin.

Then of course it all depends how much you smoke. If you are bringing down others around you due to its affects on you and how much you spend on it- that's probably a sin. But- if it's just occasional drug use, and not abuse... far less 'sinful'.

I don't know, but i can tell you a true story that happened to me. I was smoking and watching TV the gospel and this woman pastor turned to the camera and said God told you to stop smoking pot. I was like i wonder if she is talking to me? The next day i began smoking again and i had to go to the store when i went out side a dark cloud came from the ground and filled the space around me and i couldn't breath. People around me started looking like zombies and chasing me and when they open their mouth black smoke came out. I ran got into the car and went to the local church and it was Saturday and they were closed, so i went to the church's book store and asked the lady where was the pastor. She said he was out of town and could she help me. I told her i don't think anyone can help me and before I could finish she said Satan is that you? I thought I was dying. She ran from behind the counter and started laying hands on me saying I rebuke you Satan in the name of Jesus leave this child of God alone. I fell to the floor and three other women joined her. I saw the smoke start to disappear and i was speaking in tongue and one of the women was translating it. After they finished I got up and they were looking at me very strange and I was so embarrassed i said thank you and ran out of there. I wasn't about to tell them i was smoking weed and i wasn't even high anymore. Every since then I stopped smoking that sh-t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a sin to do things that could potentially harm you. It is also sinful to obsess about worldly things. If you are smoking enough to either damage your health or become obssessed with it, then yes it is a sin.

Our body is the temple of the holy ghost. And God says we are not to hurt it. So smoking pot would be a sin. Plus your killiNG brain cells!

It is a sin to partake of anything in excess. Even food, which you need to live.

In America, we do everything in excess. The abuse of marijuana is long lasting and has no benefits. It's popularization for abuse has made it a target for making illegal.
