i live with my parents in a flat on the first floor. i like the guy that lives in the next entrance of our house. he's never seen me and doesn't know. whole my family knows his family, but nobody knows his name, and my family doesn't talk much to his parents. i've noticed him because he keeps leaving his car in front of my window. should i do anything? in russia it's not often when girls come up first. what do you think should be done not only by me, but also maybe by somebody else. well, give an advice. And what should i do or say so that he likes me? P.S. he's 20, i'm 18.the point is that it's russia, it's not usual here for girls to make the first move. and also, how should a girl behave in the conversation with a man?P.P.S. You should introduce yourself to him or if you have any brothers let them introduce you to him or if he has any brothers or sisters ask them to introduce you to him. If he has never seen you then I think that an introduction is a good start. It's 2006 even in Russia and you are 18 and he is 20 it isn't like you are children. You are both young adults and apparently this is your 1st crush from what you wrote it just seems that way. Just make your presence know to him but not in a sluttish way or disrespectful manner. If things work out for the 2 of you don't have sex with him on the 1st night. Just be yourself and things will work out. You can read all our advice but eventually you are going to have to be the one to decide what is best for you. Always be a lady in whatever you do. Don't give into him just because he wants you too and you should talk about something that is of interest to you until he shares his interest with you. God Bless you.

Hello Russia!!! Hope things are going well for you and yours.
You talk about how things are NOT done in Russia - how are things done? That is, are there people who should be introducing you? Can your parents host an 'open house' - a very unstructured party where you serve food and people come and go whenever they wish within the set hours of the open house?
Maybe you could drop something out your window on to his car (something soft!) that he'd need to return to you. Maybe you could be outside when he comes up and just smile at him the first time you see each other that way. Maybe you have a puppy or some other thing that would attract his attention when you are outside.
Let me make this point that sounds relevant for women in Russia, USA, and everywhere. You don't want to make him like you - you want to find out if you like him! Right now, you know he's attractive to you, but what do you know of his character, his morals, his values, his hobbies, how he treats his mother, whether or not he reads Gogol. Yes, you want to meet - but not to win him over, but to get to know him! And to let him get to know you.
And you are quite young - keep your main focus on developing yourself so you have something to offer.

If you like him..then why care about who or which goes 1st?Is it a law stating that men should always go 1st in russia?i don't think so right?
Perhaps you will attract him by making the 1st move which no gals would?Even he don't like you, you have already rooted a deep impression by making the 1st move to know him..
Or just a hi and smile will do everytime you sees him..slowly if he's interested, he will approach you..Good luck!

Bump into him (literately). From there start a conversation, introduce yourself, the idea is to get him to notice you or make contact. see how it goes from there.

talk to him. if he doesnt even know u theres no use in makin a move..yet! after u guys get to know each other he may ask u out but if he doesnt then go ahead. make a move. so wut if its uncommon in russia. u can do w/e u want. good luck!
