I would be extremely surprised. I have been given circumstances in my life that could only have come from God, more specifically, the God of the Bible.
Even so, if there is no heaven, no hell, and I am reincarnated, I will have another chance. If the eternal destiny that I've been promised DOES exist, then those who have lived their lives banking on no heaven, no hell are going to be miserable.

I couldn't help answering this question even though I don't believe in the Bible or the Jesus story.
I do believe in a Creator but I don't thing It is a human and I don't think It will send me to hell if I don't believe It isn't a human and I choose not to believe his Bible teachings.
So far your answers have been rational, I am surprised given the fact that so many Christians go off the deep end every time you ask a question such as this topic.
I am a good person who lives their life trying to treat people with kindness and be non judgmental about what ever they believe.
I feel we all have a 50/50 chance in this religion thing and yet some Christians don't even realize that.
Too bad cause it's still a 50/50 chance they are wrong.

I'd be pretty surprised if I died and was just left in limbo! I take it you mean if there was a complete alternative to heaven, hell and God? I think even with all the scepticism in the world, it's hard not to imagine that there is some form of heaven, hell and God. So in answer, yes. I'd actually be very surprised!

Let me answer for them. I'm an atheist, as you already know, but was raised in the church, so I know how alot of them think. They would wander around trying to figure out why an angel or Jesus hadn't shown up yet. If a friend or family member who had died before them met with them just after they died, it would be explained by that person. I think a really good example of a non-religious afterlife society is illustrated well in the movie Beetlejuice. It also shows the confusion that Barbara and Adam have trying to figure out what they're supposed to do I.E. "Are we half-way to heaven or half-way to hell?" LOL Good stuff.

It's not grasping the question, it is a matter of the pretend part.
Why even pretend?
The way I have been brought up I could not think of there not being a Heaven.
Of course the question could be rhetorical. What if you woke up one day and you were standing before God?
What would be your first question?

If it turns out that I'm wrong, [I'm a Christian] I imagine that would be a huge let down feeling.
But what if the people who are NOT Chirstians are wrong? I.e. there really is a Hell, and they've rejected God and Jesus all these years?
If I'm wrong, bummer, but no biggie. If they're wrong - yikes!

A better question would be if there wasn't any of the above, what would we be doing and where would we be? You are going to hell for just asking questions like this. haha just kidding. I think most of the believers would be shocked. I wouldn't worry about what happens when you die, rather what is happening while you live.

so are we imagining there is no after life at all... and you just die and do not exist in any form at all?... if so it won't matter ..... I would never know the difference.... and if we are imagining there is no where to go after wards ( heaven /hell etc) but we do exist in some form or another.... then I'll just hang around and haunt the living... sure I would be disappointed ... but I'm sure I can keep myself amused somehow....lol..

Hello Selnyk.. :)
You started this question out as Believers, well the word believers means we are to believe, so for me to imagine something that I do not believe in, is against my beliefs..
I pray you understand..
2 Timothy 1
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

I never thought about it, but my thought (based on the way you asked the question) would be no. . . no Heaven, Hell, or God I would cease to be - with no chance to find out.
If I found out I was wrong. . . well, I guess I would be o.k. knowing that I tried to live a good, honest life and did the best that I could do.
Pretty insightful question if one thinks about it.
