I was just wondering. I grew up with no parents, catholic background but never walked in it, lots of superstition and witch craft and I've been a christian for 11 years now. I'm 29. As a child I always felt The Spirit of God around me but never really knew what it was. I see many of your questions and answers and I'm just wondering why you question God? where you hurt?I was.. by family, friends, drugs, alcohol, or are you just seeking the truth. Real answers please. Don't hate... Just truthful.

I don't question God. But yes, I think the way some people teach religion is crazy...this thing with 'you will go to hell if....' is a very bad approach. My relatives and religious teachers basically concentrated on that sort of thing, perhaps thinking that children will only do things according to consequences. I think religion should be taught in the way that it makes you humble and honoured to be a worshipper of God. Being God's servant should not be due to a set of rewards and punishments.

Me personally.. no, I have not been hurt.

But I see around me way too many people fighting over who is right and wrong. From the Crusades to Jihad... to simple fights in high school among different groups of faith. I just can not fathom that if there were a God he'd want it so that he gave some the truth about "The Word of God" and left everyone else in the dark worshipping different Gods that do not exist. It seems a lot easier to fathom that noone's version of God is the more accurate, and that if there is a God he does not care what religion you follow or if you follow a religion at all. I think a sensible God would simply just want people to treat others with the same respect they'd like to be treated with.

But then again you asked why I question God. I don't, so perhaps I shouldn't have answered. However, I do question anyone that claims to have inside information on God's word or plan.

I'm not an Atheist, I don't really follow any religion, but I do believe in God, I just don't believe in religion. I read the bible, and saw what others in the name of God did to one another, among other things.
That's what makes me question certain things. But that's just one opinion.

Not hurt. I accept the validity or all religions equally. I just choose not to belong to religions that require, dogmatically, the giving up of a person's free will.

Not hurt. I just don't agree with believing in something on an act of blind faith. Question everything and if you cannot satisfy the answers you are looking for, don't blindly accept.

Now that... Is the correct way to approach an atheist. Courteous, kind and honest.

Let's see what kind of crud you get in return for it because of the social mess that Christians have made of their own religion.

Kudos to you sweetie and God Bless your life always!

And I aint an Atheist, though that will not make me want to fight or belittle them...for me personally its their life...not mine.
