I lived witht my aunt for almost 2 years and my mom lived in another state. My mom came from that state and took me. In the state of missouri you only have to be 17 to move out of your parents home. So if i wanted to move out i have the choice to move out. I told my friend that wasn't 18 yet to come get me and bring me back to her place to wait until i had transportation to get back with my aunt. My mom is trying to control my life and i really dont want to live with her and if i go back to living with her i know she'll try and fight me like a man. She's hit me in the past over arguements and issues. I want to get rid of her legal rights over me so i can go to school and have a real future. I am only 17 and i want to stay at the high school i have been the three years i've already been. I dont think that it's righjt to take your child away from his senior year andaway from a town that had his life in it.

I do not get along with my mom and she wil not sign anything. She's trying to force me to live with her. I cannot live with her. I lived with her 4 years of my whole life.

Because you are 17 and capable of living independently plus the history you have with your mom you can get emancipated. But, this is not as easy as filling out paper work. You need a lawyer and you have to go through court. This means that it could take lots of time and money. By the time it was all said and done you might just be 18.

I would look into it and maybe call the courthouse or a lawyer and see what it would require. Sometimes it's just smarter to wait until your 18.

If she ever hits you that child abuse! Call the police, they will take you away and probably to a safe place until you are 18. You do not have to live in this situation if it is unsafe.

You need to speak to a lawyer. Look in your phone book under Family Services, it should be a local government office. Call them and they can help.

Well I would talk to your aunt and mother and tell her that you do not want to go with her. Make your mother fight in court for you... and make yourself unavialable for your mother when she comes to get you. Have you told your aunt about your feelings?
