I got married in June of this year and I had apple red as my color, I think it's really what you want! Red is my favorite color and it was a huge hit, although beforehand everyone told me not to use it because it was so dark and it wasn't "fit" for June. I think you'll be fine with the chocolate brown and pink, or if you're really worried about it being too dark then you could use a lighter shade of brown, my sister is using "Latte" which is kind of in between and pairing it with rose pink. It's up to you, do you what you think would make your day perfect, after all it's the best day of your life! :)
Congrats and Good luck!

A deep chocolate brown would be too dark. But what about a milk chocolate brown?
Any pink & sage would be beautiful.
All the pastels together for a 'rainbow' wedding is pretty, too.
You have quite the option when it comes to colors. Does your fiance have a favorite?

I'm getting married in June of 2007, my colors are a light yellow for the girls and a light baby blue for the guys...
I would recommend going with softer colors. make sure you pick colors that will accent your wedding, picking the place usually helps too, mine is on a golf course outside, so we picked those colors... another thing to do is make sure the colors compliment each other if you are having the guys and girls wear different colors...
Another idea if you cant decide... pick a color and have the bridesmaids wear different shades... or pick different colors and have them wear different colors.. but make sure they all look good together. dont do like green and then a purple..
Congrats and good luck to you two

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.
In my opinion, pink and chocolate brown looks better in the fall. I agree that pink and sage green will be very beautiful for a july wedding. Also Purple, lilac and silver or lavender and sage green

I love navy for summer weddings-it is clean and crisp and can be accented with almost any color ( suggestions below) For wedding party- lots of options but if you have a dressmaker think silk dupioni - at 15.00 a yard let the bridesmaids get their own custom dresses made and have vests made for the guys. Everyone will look great, coordinate but not be in cookie cutter outfits especially if they do not have cookie cutter shapes. If you have flower girls- crisp white dotted Swiss empire waist with navy sashes.
The sky is the limit with Navy--
- accent with soft gold and cream
- or cherry red not a bood red
- pink - use spray roses , mini carnations and alstromeria in varying shaed of pink
- yellow is a lovely accent to Navy
- I love to use varying shades of orange with Navy
- a soft but bright green works well too- white liliies, carnations spray roses with varying shades of green is a great crips accent to navy

Summer usually reminds me of days with bright sunshine and easy going days. To capture that mood, you need bright, lively colors. Shades of blue, green, yellow or pink paired with lighter colors like white, cream or silver should be lovely in your wedding. Good luck and congratulations.

Im having a summer wedding and using lavender. I was going to use red, but than that would be too much red. And instead of getting a dark color like purple , I wanted a lighter color so I got Lavender

Pastels are great! Lavender, soft pink, soft yellow, a light sage green, would go beautiful together as bridesmaids dresses!
