DON'T dye your hair yourself! You could really mess it up because you won't know what you're doing. I know a little bit about these things so please listen (you'll hate this) - your mother is right not to let you dye your hair at your age. Wait a couple more years and then get some highlights. The maintenance on really blonde hair that is not natural is high. Going blonde is tough and it will dry out and ruin your hair if you're not careful. The products at the grocery store are not the same ones that they use in the salon.

NOW, I too have straight hair that doesn't like to do anything. Use a styling gel or mousse (mousse if your hair is fine, gel is it's more course), then blow it dry in sections using a round brush to give it a little more body. Then take a large barrel curling iron and curl it up so that it flips up a little at the ends. Then use some light hairspray so that it stays.

Last but not least, never think you aren't beautiful! You're already beautiful, you just need to do some things to enhance and bring out that beauty.

Good luck with your boy!

HEY! Im twelve too, and yeah, there are quite a few guys in my class that are cute, but I dont go out of my wa to impress them because I want them to like me.. Just to let you know, boys our age don't really like girls who do their hair like all that and wear make-up- it intimidates them a bit. Sure, they'd be like "OMG, she looks fine", but really, inside their heads when they aren't with their guy friends, or even actually, when he is with a good guy friend, he'll be like "Wow, what a slut! I mean, she's only a kid!" Right?

Scrunching is cute too!
For now, just try and earn yourself respect from guys. I am nice to them all, laugh at their jokes, smile and flirt, and naturally I won't go to school looking like a slob, but as for your hair, try and do it in pigtails, little random braids, a French braid looks nice, a high ponytail is always cute, or just let your hair down! Guys like girls to not be so uptight. It's really your personality that counts. Anyways, have a good school year and good luck~!
