Your 2 year old should have about 4 8oz servings a day. If he/she is eating yougurt and other dairy products daily, then you can cut this amount appropriately. When your child is thirsty, give him/her water or watered down juice.

It depends on the toddler. My 2yr old drinks skim milk now. Dr.s say that they need whole milk until age two for brain development, after that you need to make sure they have a well rounded diet. As long as they are getting three servings of dairy in a day along with 5-7 fruits and veggies, 2-3 meats, and 4-6 grains they should be fine. Make sure they are getting enough liquids to keep them hydrated. If juice gives them diahrea try a mixture half water and half juice, this seemed to help my 2 yr. old. This also makes them want to drink more because it has some flavor. that means you don't have to worry about them getting dehydrated.

Milk is always essential in a baby's diet. It has all the proteins, vitamins, calcium a baby (even a grown up needs). Doctors say that when you don't have time to eat a glass of milk would substitute a meal. I give my daughter 16-20 ounces of milk in a day, as much as she wants.

They should have 3-4 servings of dairy a day.
I give my 2 yr old son 2-3 glasses of milk a day.
Throw in yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, etc. for a full balance.

I have a four year old and the doctor told me when she was that age that if she was eating healthy that she should only drink about 16 ounzes of milk a day.
If your child wants more, I would give them more. My child eats really well and still drinks more than 16 ounzes of milk a day. She is really healthy.

10-15 ounces a day should be good enough, maybe less if s/he eats cottage cheese, yoguart, cheese....ice cream, other milk products.

I would think as much as they want. Talk to your doctor though and find out.
