Not in the least bit. But why are you asking this on Yahoo Answers? Do you really want to know the answer?

Go to the Bible which is the Source of the information and the answers.

Jesus is / was God in human form. His name means God-with-us. He knew the sacrifice He would have to make when He came in human form.

Read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation if you really want to know. There are more than 300 prophecies about the Messiah in the Hebrew Scriptures. In fact Jesus Christ was the only One who had His biography written before He was ever born.

Sinless Jesus came to die the most horrible death so that mankind could be put back into a right relationship with the Creator. Because He rose again we know that His sacrifice was acceptable to God.

Since Jesus was with God since the beginning, and since this plan to save humankind from death and the devil was in effect since the Garden of Eden, of course Jesus knew. That was the reason he had to put off his Godhood for a little while, and become man. Him being crucified was the whole reason he was born as a human baby. Of course, being a real human, he asked God if there was any other way, asked if he maybe wouldn't have to do it, but he did God's will, and allowed himself to be crucified. He didn't have to, he allowed this to happen to him.

Luke 22:41-44
Jesus ,as any human would, feared what was to happen, and He prayed to God to let this cup pass from Him,but not His will, but God's will be done. Jesus prayed so earnestly that his sweat became as blood. This goes to show how great God's love for us is,to give His only begotten Son's life so that we might be saved, and Jesus loved us ALL enough to do God's will.

Romans 8:3 says: "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh , and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh." Jesus came to be crucified.

I was just thinking about that the other day. My understanding is that Christ had to learn who He was, and so at some point He realized he would be performing this atonement and going through a lot of suffering. I can't imagine what that must have felt like. I don't know, maybe that's why he went off to be alone and fast a pray in the desert for a while, that's just a guess of course.

Although I am an atheist I have been bombardised with the fairy tale many times so I know what happened.
There was a time where Jesus lost his will and got a bit scared knoing that he would lose his life. But then God spoke to him and they made some sort of arrangement.

They both knew that the human race was supposed to have a life sacrifice, a sinless sacrifice, if it was to EVER see Heaven. Many times in the Bible we see clues about the one that is to come and redeem us, proof that God knew His Son will have to die for us. That is how desperate the human race is, that's how bad things are.

Christ came to earth to free us...however he came to earth as a man and therefore had all human emotions. In the garden of Gesthemane He asked his Father "if it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will not mine.". Christ knew it woulnd't be pleasant but He willingly gave His life so we could have life with Him everlasting.

Jesus asked for God to take that from him, meaning to release him from that fate, if possible. But once he knew God wanted him to do it, he relented with grace and went to his fate. If you read the Bible for yourself, you can learn about the part of Jesus life on earth. It is amazing he took on our sins and went to his death. BTW, crucifixion is one of the worst ways to die. I read a play by play on what it does to the human body and it is horrible.

read mark chpt 15: 33-34 He asked God why he had forsaken him. Then later on he told the lord nevertheless let your will be done. I believed he loved us so much that though it was painful he was willing to sacrificed his life so that we could be free.
