Hi,
My son is diabetic, i have experience, i read some of the answers, some are not true! Fruits have alot of sugars! Eat no fruits! And cereal have sugars too, all kind of cereals, there are some like cheerios who have not so much, but still sugar.
Look at the labels, everything what has more than 0 grams carbohydrates have sugar!
I would skip breakfast at all for this one day, just to be sure!!!
Ideas for sugar free breakfast are bacon, canadian bacon, sausage and eggs, cheese, all kinds of vegetables, lunchmeat.
LG

Water is the best bet. It won't mess up your tests. If you get a headache or dizzy from not eating take a V-8 with you to your visit and drink it as soon as the blood has been taken. Fasting is the best for your test. Always drink plenty of water, not flavored water but regular water. It helps flush out the bad stuff and you feel fuller.

If it's just sugar, then you should have a lot of choices. If it's "carbs" as well, you'll be more restricted; no breads, etc. Eggs, toast, bacon or sausage (without "smoked" or "maple flavored", etc.) coffee, no sugar. Pretty much any meat/protein source should be safe, either way.
But stay away from fruit or fruit juices (fructose and other sugars), and milk (lactose, still a sugar of sorts; just to be safe).

you could eat a grapefruit. or a bran cereal. both are very good for you and if they have sugar it is a very little bit. there are cereals out there that do not have sugar in them like cheerios.
