I don 't know when God wasn't okay with contraception. Being in control of having kids when you are financially able and willing sets up a home of love and allows the kids to feel "wanted"..."planned."
This is a great move and a long overdue move. Emergency Contraception, aka, Emergency birth control is just that. It should be available to all ages. More so to sexually active teens than adults. They really need access to this birth control because they are at the highest risk of having kids out of wedlock, higher incidence of child abuse in the home, and less chance of graduating from H.S. and especially college.
God supports us being responsible and only having children when we are able to provide the home He wants every child to have. Not only that...this drug can prevent up to 800,000 abortions each year. Another chance at birth control is an extreme necessity.

I think it is great that they finally approved. I have mixed feelings about the age restriction. I would hope if I have a daughter under 18 and she had an issue related to contraception that she would talk to me about it. I wouldn't want her to have to face an unplanned pregnancy though because she either was raped and too ashamed to say, made a mistake, or had a birth control failure. I think maybe the girls who come from very strict and shaming families will be the ones most hurt by the age restriction.
As to the second part, I don't know whether there is a God or not but if there is I don't believe they are against contraception. I don't think God wants people to overpopulate the planet. I think God would want every child to be wanted and brought into circumstances that were stable and loving. I don't think God necessarily wants 15 year olds who are emotionally immature, financially dependent, and not in a stable relationship to have babies.

I know that Catholics are against contraceptives in general so I think that some might call it just another form of abortion. I however don't. I like the age restriction for being able to buy it over the counter. However I think that younger girls should have access to it at different venues like clinics and doctor offices. That what they can be limited to how they use it. We don't want 16 yr old girls having tons of sex unprotected just because they think they can go and buy the plan B pill and it will all be ok.

I don't get the big "to do" about the morning after pill. If the opposition is that it allows conception but not implantation, was there as big a hue and cry about the IUD (which works in the same way)?
I think allowing women over the age of 18 access OTC is okay, and I agree that women under 18 should have a prescription, because that requires doctor awareness. While they may think they're "old enough" to have sex, there are things about PlanB that they need to understand and it needs to be used in a certain way. I wouldnt' trust that they could read the box that closely.
Over 18, well, in theory they're adults. If they're old enough to go to war, they should be old enough to be responsible for what they put in their body.

I don't believe in God, so that part doesn't really matter to me.
As for the age limit, it is appropriate, at 18 you are an adult and a parent should have no say in an issue like this. As for under 18, there are health risks involved with any medication, so they should have to gain access through a doctor who can make sure it is safe for them to take it and make sure they understand any problems that might occur from taking it.

Was your god ever not fine with contraception?
Science only tells us what we can do and what will be the likely result. Has nothing to do with what we should do.
There's no God to tell us what we should do--we have to look at the options and the likely results and make up our own minds.

science itself is the will of God. (that we have it) what people do with it is not necessarily the will of God. if you look at things that way, then everything that has ever happened is what God has wanted and everything is okay. this is just not true. i don't believe God is fine with contraception. i also don't believe God is fine with everything that causes us to need contraception from rape to incest, right down to premarital sex. this is not meant to sound "holier than thou", since i do use contraception. and it doesn't make me a hypocrite because i don't believe it's right that i'm using it. it just makes me a sinner.

who said this came from God? This is the work of the devil.
One of the many things that bothers me about this is that is OTC. So you have to be 18. . . big deal, you have to be 21 to buy beer, but I know of many 15- and 16-year olds getting drunk. Some one will always be there to purchase it.
I am sure that Planned Parenthood, being the evil institution they are, will stock up on this and hand it out like candy.
Taking murder of innocent children to a whole new level.

Sophistry, man made this pill, stop blaming God for everything.
This pill can accomplish an early abortion too.
Contraception is a sin and will remain so till hell freezes over.
And you're still going to hell if you miss mass.
