This is just a question out of curiosity, not meant to be hurtful, or offensive. I am depressed, too, and have sought counseling, have been on meds Paxil and Wellbutrin, am now off all meds, am able to handle depression and other stuff through faith, am wondering how you are doing? Hope to get some good answers, please no nasty harsh answers, that is not my goal here. Thanx in advance for your answers.

i am on zoloft and in counseling. i think that it is wonderful that you are cured by faith. i hope to accomplish that one day. i have been battling with depression for almost seven years(since i was 13). i do let depression get the best of me sometimes but i will conquer it someday.

I feel that counseling is the way to go. I too was on Paxil and Wellbutrin and it was not only not beneficial, it made things worse. To be clear headed and deal with the problem is the best thing to do. If you can figure it out on your own good then do that and if you can't, that's what counseling is for. I suppose I figured out what was bothering me on my own and yes, a new found faith in the goodness of life has helped tremendously.

Good luck to you.

I am not taking any medication by my own authority. Psychologist agrees with me that I have been through that route many times and it does not always work. I am diagnosed bi-polar-borderline personality disorder. I am manic right now according to the psychologist. I have a good friend that is watching for the down side of this disorder because I am not always able to see myself falling over the edge. But through my faith in God and good counseling and good friends I will make it through this episode also. At least I hope and pray that I do.

I lost my wife 3 years ago, and went into severe depression mode. Almost committed sucide, but was smart enough to check into a local Behavior Clinic. Three years later I am doing better, but still have depression from time to time. I see a shrink quarterly, plus on zolft and Tranzadone. Doc said I will probably be on zolft the rest of my life cause of chemical inbalance and the tranzadone is a antidepressant and sleeping pill. If I dont take it I can't sleep. But in the long run things keep improving.

Faith is an option I have trouble with these days, because I feel God took her from me. But I do blame myself for him doing it as she was very sick and I prayed to God to not let her suffer anymore even if it meant taking her home. Believe, God listens sometimes, but struggling why he listened then!

I have been down for the past three days. I am not sleeping. Am not using any meds and no counseling. A good friend of mine has decided to cheer me up. I am smiling again but I can feel it's not reaching my eyes.
Praying helps. Making others smile makes me happy too.
Thanks for asking.

I used to be depressed, I didn't take meds for it, rather I ( stupidly) turned to alcohol. Needless to say this only made things worse. I went to counseling to get over my alcohol dependancy. I still have to watch out for depression, it sneaks up on you but now that I am alert I know what to look for and also how to get myself out of my slump. I have faith in my own ability to get over depression!
