I am christian and i too have tattoos, and know many others who do too. For christians to look down on you because you have tattoos is religion. there are too many religious people in todays churches, rather than christians. religion is a set of constraining rules that people who are "Holier than thou" like to impose on the rest of christians. Christianity is about a RELATIONSHIP with Christ, not a bunch of rules about whether we have tattoos or not, whether the women should grow their hair long, wear make up or wear pants.
In the old testament: Le 19:28 And cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah.
This was likely due to the fact that those people at that time who tattooed and cut their skin were worshiping false gods and were identified by their tattoos and cuttings. this was to ensure that Gods people did not get confused with those worshiping false gods.
Tattoos, i have no problem with them, as long as they dont promote evil or identify one with evil.

The Bible says we are to accept all people and love them. It doesn't mean we have to like how they look or what they do. You are to love the sinner, not the sin. With that said, why should having a tattoo (by the way, NOT A SIN) matter to anyone? It is your body. I have seen many beautiful tattoos of a religious nature and otherwise on people. As long as it's not of something that mocks God, Jesus or the Bible, I don't see a problem with it.
Just a note - I had this opinion L-O-N-G before getting a tattoo myself. :)

I know lots of people who have huge tattoos of the Virgin Mary covering their entire backs. Lots of Jesus' and crosses and all kinds of intensely religious tattoos. Of coarse most of these were done in prison, so I don't think any of these guys would look down on your for your little tattoos.
Fundamentalists would probably complain that you are putting graffiti on the temple of your body, but what the heck; one mans graffiti is an others art.
Its a personal choice, and one you've already made, so whats the point of worrying about it?
Tattoos are pretty much forever.
Or as the Catholics would say: Forever and ever, Ah-men. :^)

Im cathlolic (I havent practised in years Im looking for a diffrent religion because I dont agree alot with the catholic beliefs) I have a tattoo, I know in the catholic religion its a big no no considered a sin. I dont feel it is and Id never look down at anyone for it, I plan on getting another one with the names of my two children on it, as long as you are a good christian person God is going to love you unconditionaly and I truly beleive that, now if you have satanic type tattos then maybe that might be a problem. You are fine and whoever looks down on you for it they arent even worth your time

I know lots of Christians with tattoos. I would not look down on you because of a tattoo. There's still a stigma associated with tattoed people with some people. But so many people have tattoos now days that it's almost rare to not have one.

I don't think it is un-Christian (though an argument could be made about disfiguring the Lords temple of your body). As a fellow Christian I would not look down on you. I would assume that you grew up poor and uneducated and feel sorry for you. I mean lets face it tattoos are very "Jerry Springer"...

I personally don't look down on anyone. I believe that it is God's place to judge, not mine. I will however include a link to an article that discusses tattoos. I know you already have one, but you might find some of the information interesting. It discusses some history of tattoos, as well as some health risks, and even what you are asking, what others might think of you because of having one. I hope you will take the time to look at it.

Totally ok. If "christians" are looking down on you simply because of your tattoos...they should reconsider what being a christian means. (now if your tattoos are XXX explicit - or say hail to the KKK or something really over the top...umm...that's a different story). A little dolphin, heart, or design tattoo is perfectly acceptable. :)

I wouldn't look down on anyone. We are only human we have no right to judge anyone. Most Christians look down on it because they find it a thing of the World. A worldly immoral or distasteful thing, and since Jesus told us to be no part of this world they don't join in Worldly fads. Also Pagans (and I have nothing against pagans, I love them all actually) were more likely to be tattooed and pierced, and you know how most Christians feel about paganism.
