I was visiting my dad's church and all of a sudden, the church started passing out envelopes with $15 in them to EVERYONE (about 600ppl) in the church, with a card that stated "This money is not mine, it does not belong to me, I am managing it for Christ...." Then on the back of the card they want u to write how you used it then give the card back to the church...oh and the church also said you were not allowed to give the actual money back to them. I need some ideas on what to do with the money...honest answers only please...no answers like beer, drugs, sex, yadda yadda yadda...ONLY GOOD ANSWERS! :)

That's different. What an opportunity.

Is there any soup kitchens around?
Go to your local grocer, tell them you want to buy as many canned goods as possible, and ask if they would match any item you buy as it would go to the soup kitchen. This was done around here and since people do not buy dented cans the grocer gave the cans away at 10 percent of the cost. They ended up with ten times the goods that they wanted.
Kind of neat.

Donate the $15 to a charitable cause. Go and volunteer about 3 hours at a homeless shelter. That way you are giving back not only to God, but doing something good for yourself. Maybe you can use the $15 to purchase some sunday school music, or stuff they can use when the kids are there. I don't know what exactly to say but these are some of the things I have done to help out another person.

Donate it to a food bank or a homeless shelter. Buy lunches, coffee or blankets for homeless people on the street. Buy the necessary materials and have a fundraiser to accummulate more money (car washes, bake sales and jumble/yard sales are always good for bringing in the mula). Just make sure the money goes to someone who really needs it - but not just a handout, something that is really needed.

Invest it in the church's name. That way it will grow and make more money for the church. Kind of like the parable where the master gave money to three servants. The first two servants increased their master's money and were rewarded. The third one hid the money so that he wouldn't lose any, but he didn't do any good with it, either, and was punished.

Have a good time, go see a movie or something.

Here's a couple of thoughts. Our church did the same thing and here is what some folks did. One person literally just pulled a name out of the phone book and told them the money was a gift from God. Another group of people pooled their money together and took blankets, diapers etc to a women's shelter. Just pray on it and whatever God places on your heart...follow that. He will do something really amazing through this. Enjoy!!

Wow that is a fantastic idea! You sound like you belong to a really great church. How bout you donate it to a charity. Or you could buy some food (or like a gift certificate to like McDonalds)and hand it out to some homeless people.Another idea is you could by some inexpensive clothes (goodwill)like a coat or shoes and give it to a homeless person.

Donate it to a worthy Christian charity. A good one off the top of my head in Voice of the Martyrs. It is an organization that funds evangelism in restricted countries. Often their preachers and missionairies are jailed, beaten and/or killed for the cause of Christ.

Donate it to Compassion International. Feed the children.

or Partners in Health. Heal the sick.

http://www.pih.org

or Salvation Army. There's probably one in your town somewhere.

That's really cool. More churches should do this.
