My sister posted a response to a question the other day. She wrote "thank you for the two points - have a lovely rest of the day". She got reported. Yahoo Answers sent her a Violation Notice which stated that she didn't answer the question and was warned about that. The question she answered was a person's question who was very racist toward Americans and about how stupid we all are because "supposedly" this person was from Mexico, illegal and there is nothing we can do about it because our government doesn't care. She didn't bash this person, as many other people did, so why was she reported?

I don't know why she would get reported over that,,,, I see that happening all the time. Kind of stupid if you ask me. At least she was nice to the dude considering.

That is known as gaming for points and it is reportable. So she was reported. Some people report for small insignificatnt things like this, while others of us report for only big infractions. But the rules are the rules. Never mention the points!

Personally I think Gaming for Points is a stupid reportable because isn't that the point of being here - playing a game (if you will) for points?

She was reported because apparently Yahoo Answers doesn't care how vulgar someone's question is, if they are reported, they are reported, it's as simple as that.

I too had almost the same thing happen to me. I replied to a question with a "huh" (as did other people) and I was reported. I contested the Violation, but just got a "pat" answer back from someone named Ginger. It didn't answer my reponse at all. It just told me to read the guidelines, which are a joke.

Because in yahoo rules it says you have to answer the question and if you don't you take a chance on being reported... If the question was racist she should have answered with "you are reported" and reported them... Then she wouldn't have run into trouble... Hope this helps!

Because the ONLY reason she put any response at all was to get two points. That's stupid, and it defeats the purpose of the points system. It's called "gaming for points." If you read the rules, you'll see all about this. Use your brain for a minute.

Read the Yahoo forum answers rules of conduct.
The Idea of "Yahoo Answers" is to facilitate communication.
What your sister did is called "Point playing" - its illegal in Yahoo if its caught.

It is considered gaming for points. Although I think the guy that wrote the questions should have probably had a violation as well....which he may have.

someone had to report her. Technically her response is not an answer, it is considered 'gaming for points'.

She was reported cause some idiot has too much time on his hands and thinks it's funny. Just ignore it.
