Hi,

I want to install a set flowmaster exhausts on my Crown Vic. I know the passenger side uses the dimensions Offset Inlet / Center Outlet. And I guess the driver side uses Opposite Side Offset Inlet / Center Outlet, if thats what that measurement is called. Does anyone know if I can use Offset Inlet / Center Outlet for the driver's side if I overturn the muffler? Is it ok to install it overturned?

I need to know because I don't want to purchase from the local shop. They are charging a fortune. On eBay they're cheap.

Any suggestions would help.

Thanks.

George.

You can install a muffler upside down, you just have to make sure that the exhaust flow is in the same direction! It does not matter how it is mounted.

Yes - you can install the muffler upside down to the other side. The muffler has no top or bottom but it does have an inlet and and outlet and they have to installed correctly for exhaust gas flow. Go ahead and use the same one for the driver's side that is used on the passenger side - the car was available with a symmetrical dual exhaust from the factory (it was not a true dual set-up since it had an "H" pipe which allowed coross-flow). If you're not sure about the installation, you could buy the parts online then take it to a shop to have the installation done professionally.

One word of caution regardless of who installs: The aftermarket systema dn your car may not fit together 100% so you may need to make a few minor adjustments or alterations. Don't wrry though these cars are pretty easy to work on and exhaust systems are generally not difficult to fit into them.

it heavily isn't necessary to modify something else as long as you're literally unlikely for ridiculous quantities of bypass. most inexpensive thanks to bypass loud? have someone reduce out the muffler. yet in case you want a correct high quality sound ( searching on the motorized vehicle) discover an oem exhaust equipment on your funds and characteristic someone with mechanical journey deploy it for you. exhaust isn't complicated. yet i might want to pretty advise having a automobile fanatic help you pick an exhaust equipment.

I'm sorry, but to me, even the THOUGHT of flowmasters on a CV crack me up. If I saw and heard one while driving, I'd probably crash from laughing so hard. Reminds me of those cars I see with the gargantuan primered hood scoops and "tail fins" (as I like to call them) that could fly a 747.
Please. Don't do it. For the good of mankind. ;-)

The muffler won't work if it is installed backward. Very bad performance and it will sound funny to say the least.

When you shop for headers make sure they allow for removal of the starter and they do not mount too close to the starter.
