In my opinion it is a book from Man, of Man and for Man.
Used to raise an army in the first place, inspired by the bible and heretics of that time.
Peace!

It depends upon which indiviidual you are asking? To the muslim he would say no. To the atheist he would say it doesn't matter all religions are all full of hate, hypocrisy and lies. You are quoting specific portions of the Koran, to prove a slanted point based on what you want to prove what it is or it is not. If you want to make an analysis consult the whole; not just the parts which prove your ideology, which you wish to condone or condemn.
I have not read it, so I can not form a thorough opinion on the book myself. However I do not intend to do so.
The Word of God is truly the only book of peace that produces the true and everlasting peace of God shed abroad upon mens hearts. For it is the only book when fully accepted, believed and practiced wholeheartedly changes lives, transforms by the grace of God in Christ. You can not put the Holy Bible (though many do) up against the other books of faith and say they all have light in them, some more some less. The Bible is the only record of the true light that leads to eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. It is the history of God's people following and at times disobeying God's commands but the record is a true record not an edited one.

Should you reads the Heavy parts of the Koran, ones couldn't or hardly sees it as a Peaceful religion, but somehow, should ones converts themselves to Islam, from whatever religion or even Atheism previously that had enggaged or entangled to, Allah would just 'cleans-up' your sins or errors, whatever that might have been, and starting a 'new' life in Islam. As I could've understand it.

I desire I knew a thanks to make this keyboard do Arabic, as it truly is what i need right here. in any case, the "s" in "islam" isn't an same because the "s" in "salaam" (well being, peace). Islam fairly does mean "submission", yet which will be submission to the want of God, it quite is something i think Christians and Jews believe in besides. on the different question, Arab way of existence prohibits the depiction of residing creatures, it quite is why a lot of Arab imaginative skills is going into calligraphy. i visit't imagine that your pal might want to merchandise on your having a verse from the Quran tatooed on your arm, a minimum of through a lady tatooist.

Anyone can cherrypick stuff from any book:
Below are two links. One links to intolerances in the Bible and the other one links to good stuff in the Koran.
Plus Islam is a religion, not a book, as per your question.
Read through the quotes and then tell me that Christianity is any better that Islam.

There are many things in the christian bible about killing people too.
When a slave-owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives for a day or two, there is no punishment; for the slave is the owner’s property. [Exodus, chapter 21]
All who curse father or mother shall be put to death; having cursed father or mother, their blood is upon them. [Leviticus Chapter 21]

[2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
4:91] You will find others who wish to make peace with you, and also with their people. However, as soon as war erupts, they fight against you. Unless these people leave you alone, offer you peace, and stop fighting you, you may fight them when you encounter them. Against these, we give you a clear authorization.
You Shall Not Kill
[4:92] No believer shall kill another believer, unless it is an accident. If one kills a believer by accident, he shall atone by freeing a believing slave, and paying a compensation to the victim's family, unless they forfeit such a compensation as a charity. If the victim belonged to people who are at war with you, though he was a believer, you shall atone by freeing a believing slave. If he belonged to people with whom you have signed a peace treaty, you shall pay the compensation in addition to freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find* a slave to free, you shall atone by fasting two consecutive months, in order to be redeemed by GOD. GOD is Knower, Most Wise.
