will the wooden floorboards in my house be able to support the weight safely?

If the boards are not Rotten they will support the weight and stress just fine! If it is heavier that is a good thing because it will be more stable and hold up better to lots of use.

Heck! You will be getting lighter with each step anyway! :)

Also remember it isn't just the weight of the treadmill, it is your weight on top of that, and your weight becomes even greater once you start jogging on it. The shock as you land probably adds another 50% to your weight.

Find the center supporting beam for your house and place it over that. Directly over a load bearing pillar or wall works well.

Or just move the treadmill to the basement.

You have nothing to worry about but in case of earth quakes or natural disasters, make sure you have the treadmill in the bottom floor of your house so that it can't fall on anyone during an earth quake. I'm sure your floor will hold just fine for anyone using the treadmill.

Good luck getting fit!

you didn't tell us if you are going to put the treadmill on the main floor of your home or an upper floor. I have no problem with mine, have wooden floors on the upstairs level - and my treadmill is top of the line, something you would find at the gym.
