I personally feel that there is one God there should be one religion. Many religions teach that if you are not of the christian persuassion you will go to hell. I do not think that our God is that cruel. I think he will give you the oppurtunity to know the real truth straight from Him when you are standing in His presence. You then will have to accept or deny the truth. What do you guys think?

I think you are right on. There is no possibly way to learn the real "truth" in this world. You can see glimpses of it here and there but religious officials are skewed doctrine to get others to join the church or the make what they believe fit in with the scripture. I think in the end when we are all in the presence of God then all will be revealed and all we have a chance, despite what others may say. Ignore those who call you ignorant because from your statement about you are already a lot farther than other people are. Stick to what you know true in your heart and you'll never go wrong.

I think there is only one God, but I don't exactly agree with the standard Christian way of thought. I think God is so vast as to be unknowable by any one person, so He shows Himself to each person in a way that person can understand. That may be why even though there are so many religions, every legitimate one has the Golden Rule in one form or another. It's just that God has revealed only certain parts of Himself, but in ways He knows He can enlighten others.

Let me share with you what I believe: I believe in God the Father Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Christ died as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of an imperfect world and has made it possible for all who do His Father's bidding to be with God the Father and Jesus the Son in Heaven. I also believe the Bible makes it very clear that the gift of grace offered by God through the blood of Jesus Christ is only offered during the time that we have on this Earth. Therefore, if we have not accepted the gift and obeyed the commandments to hear the word, repent of our sins, confess Christ as The Savior and to be baptized before our time on Earth is over, we will hear the words "Depart from me, you who are cursed, and enter the eternal punishment that has been prepared for you" after we pass away. That is what I believe from what I have read in the Bible. But I'm not the judge. Jesus will be The Judge when He returns. My attitude is if you want to be with God when your life here is over, you had better do it His way, and His way is detailed in the Bible. Read it carefully and be sure of your salvation.

I also believe in only one true God, and for that reason, I believe in the Word of God (the Bible). I cannot believe in God and then choose which parts of the Bible to believe in - I have to believe in ALL of God's Word. He is not a cruel God. He asks people to do something very simple to achieve eternal life - to believe and also to lead a good life. We cannot force others to worship the Lord (by having only one religion). Every individual has to seek out the Lord. We can provide and support missionaries to help save as many people as possible though.

I agree with your first statement. Since there is just one God, there should be just one religion. I believe what the Bible says, at 2 Peter 3:9 "...he( God) is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." However, I also believe that he has requirements for us. The first is that we get to know him. John 17:3 says, "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only True God and the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ" We have to take in that knowledge so that we can learn what it is he wants us to do. He has given us the Bible so that we can learn about him. The problem is, most people don't want to know. I hope you will take the time to find out what God requires of each and every one of us.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

You don't need religion, people. You need Jesus. Religious rituals, whether they be going to church every Sunday and reciting the Lord's Prayer, or praying toward Mecca 5 times a day isn't going to get you to heaven. Jesus is. Repent of your sins, ask for his forgiveness, and you will be saved. Jesus loves you. Peace out.

"I personally feel that there is one God there should be one religion."

I'm an athiest, so this comment is the only statement I'm going to address. People have always differed in their intrepretations of religion. The christian religion in particular is one of the most schismatic in history because so much of it is subjective. Slight variations of translation, of connotation, or of intrepretation of context have dramatic impact on the meaning of the texts. You're never going to get such a varied body of believers to agree on one set of intrepretations, and thus will always have various religions within christianity.

On another note, I get nervous when people talk about "one religion". It sounds a lot like "one world order".

yes, God is not cruel... that is why He commanded every christian to spread the Good News for others to have a chance whether to choose the truth that Jesus is the only way to God the father or not.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one gets to the Father but by me."

Those who have been taught about Christ know what they are supposed to do. If they reject Him, they condemn themselves.

Those who have never been taught, I believe that we all have an inborn nature of knowing right from wrong, and that God takes this into account. For those of us who have been taught, we need to get on the stick and get right with Jesus.

God bless.

I don't see the need to confine people to one religion. Allow people to find their own way and respect their beliefs as you would want yours to be respected. I don't believe in a heaven with reward and a hell with punishment. I believe in energy. We are all here to learn and and grow. There is no right or wrong, just lessons to be learned.
