The Vatican is a sovereign nation with the Pope as its head. In addition, 1 in 6 of the world's population are Catholic so it is not surprising that world leaders would visit. Some do it only to garner votes in their own country. The Pope does try to morally influence the world but does not try to 'lead' any country. He has as much right to do this as any world leader. There are no secrets or foresight.

Not all countries recognise the pope and no there is no secret, people believe what they want to believe, the pope is only your religious leader if you are Catholic. You will find that the Queen respects him as an important person just like she is, she is after all the head of the Church of England.

Not really. But when you consider that around a seventh of the world's population is Catholic, the Pope is in some ways very much a world leader. Better to stay current with him than not.

Jesus said to Peter (paraphrasing), "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church."
Why did I mention that? The rock that Christ built His church on has been the center of the world ever since. She has been around for over 2,000 years, and has carried the world many times when it would have fallen into darkness.
Secrets? Conspiracies? I have no clue what you're talking about; I would encourage you to study your Christian history. Read about the early church fathers, liks St. Ignatious, St. Clement, Polycarp, Irenaous. Learning and living your faith is the most important thing you can do for youself.
God bless.

The Pope is another "leader" - he's the leader of the Catholics. I guess world leaders try to rub elbows with all high profile folks and the Pope is considered to be a very Holy man - maybe it makes them feel good? I dunno?

The Pope is the spiritual leader to millions of catholics. If you ignore him, you ignore millions of potential voters.

I watch the X-Files, but I don't believe in conspiracy theories. Even if any of them were true, what could we possibly do about it?
